There are lot of moral policing is going on in yrkkh forum. I believe there should be stricter action against those who attack real ppl for a baseless show and character.

If abc person gets warning level for talking about gen 3 which is banned in current forum and xyz also gets warning level for literally mocking and bullying real ppl then it's not fair.

Talking about real ppl is greater crime than talking about a fictional character.

I believe ppl who indulge in bullying should be punished with shadow ban. Where mods can decide if they should be shadow banned. Which will make them to be careful. It's like preventing them from commenting 24hrs or 48hrs etc based on the type of offense they have committed. This way ppl will avoid bullying or moral policing ppl.

I also suggested in the past to split the forums for each generations. But since it's still not happening gen 3 discussion which was most engaging discussion of yrkkh forum is banned in yrkkh forum which will also impact revenue of IF as mostly ppl who were here for entertainment left long back. As they can not watch gen 4 and they can't talk about gen 3.

adding to this

No filter zone yrkkh forum don't have any set rules. It's written in page 1 none is supposed to tag members, why though? It's legit a thread where people can do anything they want then what's the matter if they tag their friends? I see some people tag members and nothing happens.

I see some nfz threads are closed and some threads are trashed in rcv. Especially last Saturday thread i can't find it. Posts get deleted within seconds it's too much, you can close it without trashing not everyone is online at the same time.

In yrkkh forum new gen fans attack and say whatever they want to defend their fav gen 4 leads. No mods care about that but they are quick to post notes when people point out obvious flaw in writing in gen4. Why this discrimination? You don't want to split forums yet you have been partial since forever. You don't even show fake concern, legit a chalta hai attitude by you and your mod team.

Hi Vijay or Shreya,

What are the possible actions taken against these kind of users ?

i thought of blurring the name but when user can post such bad commemnt in public forum then she has no fear. How exactly we should feel comfortable in talking in open forum when we get these kinds of comments on daily basis.

There should be strict measures should be taken against these ppl who just spoils the fun of the discussion by spreading hate calling us cockroach, mohalle wali auntiyan, pest etc

Thanks,

Diya

Diya if you are reporting posts, then please give mods 24 hours to deal with the reports. Other actions are kept private and thus cannot be shared.

Hi Shreya,

I have been reporting and I have given time for mods to address them. The reason why i want to know is because I feel the punishment a normal rule breaker gets should not be same as this one. As this can make ppl leave IF.

Currently we only have some levels of warning level and then ban. I know moderators give ample amount of time before banning someone so they will get multiple chance to prove themself.

I feel IF should have some punishment especially for these kind of offence.

If ppl are breaking other rules which are not offending other persons like namecalling a character even after multiple rule break they are okay to give multiple chance to improve themselves as it's not a big crime. But ppl who moral police real ppl deserves some immediate punishment which can help moderators to control this in the forum.

I already suggested something in my last post.

May be something like mods can ban someone from posting in the forum up to 24 of 48 hours for these kinds of offense. Which will make ppl bit careful about what they post as they will loose the power to communicate for 24 hrs.

These punishment will definitely help those who silently report and also will reduce these kind of issues. So i wanted to suggest those features hence i wanted to know.

Diya I totally get it and I reassure you that we do adjust our actions depending on the severity of the rule breaking. For example, if you're creating a MID or personally attacking a member or celeb to the point that it crosses into coarse language or s*ut shaming or other such stuff then we are much harsher. Of course, this is where I mean we can't share what other action we take because it really is between us and that member (unless the member reveals it themselves).

We do also typically adjust based on how a forum is operating. For example, in BWF we no longer warn people for most of the basics. It's a direct WL after a certain number of offenses because we expect that when you enter that forum you know the rules and are purposely breaking them. These are the adjustments we do announce. YRKKH has certain adjustments like that as well.

I appreciate your suggestions though and we'll review them as a team.

i am looking more interms vijay adding a feature for moderators as well as users to help them a bit better to deal with it. May be a feature where you can restrict users from commenting for 24 hrs and once 24hrs over they will be automatically will be able to post. This way they will be more careful what they speak about others and also moderators need not keep a tap on whom to unblock.

There could be many other ways too one more way is how twitter has shadow ban feature where if one person is shadow banned his posts do not appear for some days on tags. If IF brings such features it may not erase these fights but can reduce to some extent.

My suggestion was majorly to vijay to see if something can be done from his end to avoid these issues.

We will certainly work on this. Currently we are working on Push Notifications to send notifications when the user is not on our site instead of emailing.

My issue here is with a couple members - will not mention names - who cancelled me simply for liking the TV show character, Anamika and talking a tad too much about her on a couple Simran Kaur ATs and for believing in reincarnation and memories of past lives along with other issues. Unfortunately, one member played nice with me and had me sharing excerpts from an Anamika fanfic, which I and a young woman in Mumbai were working on, on one of the Simran Kaur appreciation threads. See, she knew very that sharing fanfics and supposedly talking on an appreciation thread about a role played by the actor thread was opened for is totally against the rules and I did not know that, nor did I know sharing my personal thoughts about Anamika or a certain Hindu belief with her was making her uncomfortable. Only on the "last day", she and her bully friend burst out at me and humiliated me so much and nothing was done about it. Only I was repremanded by the admin of the AT threads forum. According to them, I accepted that I knew I was breaking rules. - Later on, I read my reply to a PM that was sent to me by the AT forum admin and saw I made a typo, ie.: I said "I know I was breaking rules." What I meant to say is "I didn't know I was breaking rules." I must have tried to explain myself and apologized half a dozen times and they continued berating and insulting me. Even elsewhere, one of them called me Mr. Pathetic knowing there won't be consequences for it. They never let me apologize or explain myself, never let me rectify anything.

Now tell me. Was I wrong for:

1. Liking the TV show churail, Anamika, more than Simran Kaur Hundal's other two roles?

2. Believing in reincarnation and memories of past lives or thinking I knew a woman similar to Anamika in a past life?

I get it. An AT is not a place to share fanfics or personal thoughts even about a character role played by the actor the AT was opened for and that self insert fanfics are a huge no no on this site and I should not have done that. But at that time, I didn't know I did anything wrong. But the admin of both Simran Kaur Hundal AT's knew I was breaking rules. Why did she let it go on for so long - about a year from February 2015 until January 2016 - until things went spiraling out of control? Just so she can have a pathetic excuse to proverbially "kick me where it hurts" and humiliate me just because I am a man? And so what if I like Anamika more than Simran Kaur Hundal's other two roles? And so what if I, as a Hindu, believe in reincarnation and memories of past lives? Who was that admin and her bully friends to judge me for my personal belief?

Also, why is it that on this site, a member who simply said they don't like so and so TV show character or couple or finds them annoying gets repremanded even though they were not using foul words towarads or bashing the characters, the actors who played those roles or the fans, but nothing for someone who not only expresses their dislike of a particular character, but all out bashes that character, abuses and harasses that character's fanbase etc, i.e: pointing fingers at the opposite fan base's beliefs, morals, ethics etc, calling them obsessed, stupid, pathetic etc?

In all my years on this site and on YouTube, I have found that people who are fans of the villains, aka the dark shaded characters, or misunderstood characters with dark or unusual pasts, aka the grey shaded characters, tend to be far more tolerant and accepting than the fans of the protagonists, aka the light shaded characters, of differing views even if they disagree with those views.

Vent/concern/grievence over. I seriously needed to get some stuff that was bothering me for over 8 years off of my chest. Thank God I found this thread. Now I feel a bit better after getting this off my chest.
