Game, set, match to India! The result of this game was never in doubt, and India's bowlers started brilliantly. Arshdeep got the first two wickets with two lovely inswingers, and Hridoy and Tanzid Hasan were startled by some extra pace and bounce from the Indian seamers.

Bangladesh were reeling at 41/5 at one stage. They then got a partnership brewing between the two veterans - Mahmudullah and Shakib Al Hasan, but at no point did they look to win the game. The duo stitched together a 75 run partnership before Mahmudullah retired out in the penultimate over, and Bangladesh lost three more wickets after that to finish with 119/8. Najmul Shanto: Our batting we didn’t do well, but I think in the main match we win do better. We aren’t thinking of the past, we need to play brave cricket. (On Shoriful Islam) He is still in observation in the hospital, he should be back. Everyone is excited about the first game, everyone needs to be calm and perform well.

Rohit Sharma: Quite happy with how things went, got what we wanted with the game. Important to get used to conditions. New venue, new ground and drop-in pitch. (On Pant batting at 3) Just to give him an opportunity. We haven’t nailed the batting line-up yet, we wanted most guys to get a hit in the middle.
