Might be. But that is not the concern here.
People saying alia paid for the ticket as if all others got it free and alia is a nobody and she can get into met gala with cash only.

Seems like they have no reply. 😂

Gangubai was -

Another example of classist behaviour. Did they receive fair pay? She didn’t even care to meet them personally. No word on their working conditions either.

Gosh...it is a high profile (in my mind completely redundant) fashion event, so of course a lot of money has to be spent to showcase fashion-houses/designers/models/celebs/the Metropolitain Museum etc., etc.

Everybody is paying, especially for attending and getting prepared, for the luxury and fancy frills that give so much attention to this event, for the flight, the stay, the food, special photoshootings...whatever floats the boat.

I suppose that it is a kind of collaboration between the fashion houses/designers + the celebs + the MET where the fashion-houses ask for attending and name the model they want to send or vice-versa, a celeb asks a fashion-house to showcase them at the gala...and the MET gives the okay (or not) getting a hefty amount for attending.

For Alia, it was a good opportunity to get more international attention, likewise for Sabyasachi and the combination of Spring & Garden theme fits to her 'cuteness'...and I guess, KJo was eager to play 'matchmaker'.

It is a long ago prepared event (starting the moment the theme is announced). Making Alia's Sari evidently had been a time-consuming labour (for the wages one may have to ask those who did the work).

I grant Alia the attention she got but it's just one part of her profession - she has still to deliver as an actress in every movie...and I certainly don't envy her for her private life. Money and fame may be something to strive for but what really matters is something else.

Sabyasachi scammed Alia by making her wear Deepu and katto ki purani saree.

@SakZ you said I am embarrassing myself? Hahaha let’s see who will be embarassed now. Cuz I know what I am talking about. You know sometimes using Google will save you some embarrassment, seriously you all are ready to attack me with no basic knowledge about something.

A line from the article above:

Fortunately, not everyone has to pay to attend, as Anna Wintour is known to invite up-and-coming designers to the gala. And, usually, the celebrities invited specifically to model a designer's work on the carpet don't have to pony up either.

For all those laughing and poking fun at me - If you don’t know something - it’s better to keep quiet. ZIP IT. And Stick to your nepos.

Now who embarrassed? ZIP IT.

Everybody has to pay.......if not directly....then indirectly.....smiley37smiley37

Many celebs won't find themselves footing the bill for the star-studded evening however, as fashion houses are known to buy tables and invite celebrities guests along in exchange for them wearing one of their designs on the famous red carpet.
