He will not reject Arshi right away, or reveal his marital status for two reasons:
- humiliation J will have to face from both families. Fear that J will reject him to spare herself. But in actuality she may not do it for herself, but to protect her mother and also her sirji.
- Fear that in retaliation her fam will harm her in Kashmir when she needs to take her exams. He has seen them in action. In some way he maybe able to protect her from them. But they have Tejas to unleash on her and that is too much fire to play with, and the stakes are higher
