Airport

As the anticipation mounted in the airport terminal, the atmosphere crackled with tension and nervous energy. On one side stood Sahiba's family, their expressions a mix of excitement and apprehension as they awaited her return. Santosh and Ajit, flanked by Seerat and Keerat, exchanged anxious glances, their hearts pounding with anticipation.

"We've waited so long for this day," Santosh murmured, her voice tinged with emotion. "I can hardly believe it's finally here."

Ajit nodded, his gaze fixed on the entrance as if willing Sahiba to appear. "Our daughter is coming home," he replied softly. "And she's bringing her children with her."

Seerat and Keerat exchanged a nervous smile, their hearts racing with a mixture of excitement and uncertainty. "I hope this brings some closure for Sahiba," Seerat said quietly. "And for all of us."

On the other side of the terminal, Angad's family stood in a similarly anxious state, their eyes scanning the crowd for any sign of Sahiba's arrival. Angad fidgeted nervously, his palms sweaty as he exchanged uneasy glances with Garry and Veer.

"It feels like forever since we've seen her," Garry remarked, his voice tinged with regret. "I hope she's doing okay."

Veer nodded in agreement, his eyes reflecting the same mixture of anticipation and anxiety. "It's been too long," he replied quietly. "I just hope she knows that we're here."

Manveer, Inder, Bebe, and Daarji stood nearby, their faces a portrait of silent support and concern. They had all been waiting for this moment, hoping for a chance to reconcile and mend the broken bonds that had torn their family apart.

Mahi, sensing the tension in the air, stood in between both families, her small frame a symbol of the fragile connection that still existed between them. She glanced nervously from one group to the other, her young mind trying to make sense of the emotions swirling around her.

As the minutes ticked by, the anticipation mounted, each passing second feeling like an eternity. And then, finally, there was movement—a ripple of excitement spreading through the crowd as Sahiba's arrival drew near.

Keerat's heart swelled with warmth as she spotted her beloved Tayji making her way through the crowd. "Ohh, look, there's Tayji," she exclaimed, a smile lighting up her face. Her eyes sparkled with affection as she watched Tayji's familiar figure draw closer.

Sahiba followed closely behind Tayji, her presence commanding attention as she stepped into view. Dressed in a flowing blue maxi dress, her hair pulled back in a neat plait, and sunglasses perched atop her head, Sahiba exuded confidence and happiness. Her smile was radiant, her eyes shining with anticipation as she approached her waiting family.

In each hand, Sahiba held the hands of her two precious children, Akir and Akira. Akir bore a striking resemblance to his father, his features a mirror image of Angad's, while Akira inherited her mother's delicate features and warm smile. As they walked alongside their mother, their eyes wide with wonder, the Brar family's hearts melted at the sight of Angad's children.

Tears welled up in Manveer's eyes as she watched Sahiba and the children approach, overcome with emotion at the sight of her grandchildren. Inder's chest swelled with pride, a lump forming in his throat as he took in the sight of Akir and Akira.

Bebe's eyes filled with tears. Daarji stood tall and stoic, his gaze softening as he looked upon Sahiba and the children with a mixture of pride and longing.

Garry and Veer exchanged a glance, their hearts heavy with emotion as they took in the sight of their niece and nephew. Angad's eyes glistened with unshed tears as he watched Sahiba and the children draw closer, his heart aching with longing and regret.

As the airport terminal buzzed with activity, Sahiba stood at the entrance, her heart pounding with a mixture of apprehension and anticipation. Beside her, Akir and Akira clutched her hands tightly, their eyes wide with excitement as they scanned the crowd for their father.

And then, amidst the throng of travelers, they spotted him—Angad, standing tall and expectant, his eyes searching the crowd for a glimpse of his children. With a burst of excitement, Akir and Akira let go of their mother's hand and darted forward, their voices ringing out in joyous cries of "papa!"

Angad's heart leapt with joy as he watched them approach, his eyes filling with tears at the sight of his beloved children running towards him. Dropping down to his knees, he opened his arms wide, ready to envelop them in a tight embrace.

With a rush of emotion, Akir and Akira threw themselves into their father's waiting arms, their laughter mingling with Angad's choked sobs as he hugged them tightly to his chest. In that moment, all the pain and longing of the past melted away, replaced by the overwhelming warmth of their reunion.

But amidst the joyous commotion, Sahiba remained rooted to the spot, her gaze fixed on her children and their father. She felt a pang of sadness tug at her heart as she watched them embrace.

With a forced smile, she turned away, her eyes brimming with unshed tears as she greeted Angad's family with a polite "sastriikal." Then, without a backward glance, she made her way towards her own family—towards her parents and sister—who were waiting with open arms to welcome her home.

As Sahiba wrapped her arms around her parents and sister, a flood of emotions washed over her—relief, gratitude, and a profound sense of belonging. In that moment, surrounded by the love of her family, she knew that no matter what the future held, she would always have their unwavering support and affection by her side.

As Angad knelt down, hugging Akir and Akira tightly, the reality of his children being in his arms overwhelmed him. Tears streamed down his face, unable to contain the flood of emotions.

Akira, noticing his tears, reached up and gently wiped them away. "Papa, why are you crying?" she asked, her innocent eyes full of concern.

Angad smiled through his tears, his voice choked with emotion. "I'm just so happy to see you both. I've missed you so much."

Akira responded by planting a sweet kiss on his cheek. "We missed you too, Papa."

Akir, holding his father's hand tightly, added, "We can't wait to spend time with you, Papa. We've got so much to tell you."

Everyone around them smiled, tears of joy glistening in their eyes as they witnessed the heartfelt reunion. Angad’s parents, Inder and Manveer, were particularly moved, their faces softening with unspoken emotions.

Suddenly, Akir and Akira spotted their Nana and Nani (Sahiba’s parents), Santosh and Ajit. They let go of Angad and ran towards them, shouting, "Nana! Nani!"

Santosh and Ajit bent down, wrapping their grandchildren in a loving embrace.

Meanwhile, Sahiba spotted her niece, Mahi, standing beside Seerat. Her face lit up as she approached them. "Mahi, my beautiful girl," she said, bending down to hug her for the first time. "You look just like my Seerat Di."

Mahi giggled, hugging her tightly. "Hi, Massi! Mommy told me all about you."

Sahiba smiled warmly and kissed her niece's forehead. "I'm so happy to finally meet you, sweetheart."

As Sahiba interacted with Mahi, Angad couldn't help but notice how different she looked. She was wearing a blue maxi dress, her hair tied in a neat plait, and sunglasses perched on her head. She looked radiant, confident, and undeniably happier than he had ever seen her when they were together. There was a lightness in her step, a genuine smile on her face, and an aura of contentment that he couldn't ignore.

Akir and Akira, noticing Mahi, ran over to join them. "Who's this, Mama?" Akir asked curiously.

"This is your cousin, Mahi," Sahiba introduced them. "Mahi, these are your cousins, Akir and Akira."

Mahi grinned. "Hi, Akir! Hi, Akira! Do you want to play?"

Akira nodded enthusiastically. "Yes! Let's play!"

As the children began to play in a circle ran together, their laughter filling the air, Sahiba took a moment to soak in the scene.

Angad, still on his knees, watched the children with a bittersweet smile. He caught Sahiba’s eye, and for a brief moment, they shared a look. He could see the transformation in her, the strength she had gained, and the happiness that radiated from her. It was clear she had found a sense of self and fulfillment that she never had with him.

As the reunion continued, Manveer gently intervened, her voice soft yet firm. "Come on, everyone. Let's go home," she said, gesturing towards the waiting vehicles.

Akir, not wanting to leave his father, tugged at Angad's hand. "Come on, Papa, let's go," he urged, his eyes filled with anticipation.

Angad hesitated for a moment, torn between the desire to stay with his children and the unspoken tension in the air. But he knew he couldn't delay the inevitable.

As they began to make their way towards the cars, Sahiba's voice broke through the quiet. "Akir, when Nana and Nani come to visit us in Australia, where do they stay?"

Akir paused, considering the question before answering confidently, "At our house."

Akira, following her brother's lead, chimed in, "And I remember telling Nani that when we come to India, we'll stay at Nana and Nani's house."

A hush fell over the group as everyone exchanged uncertain glances. The implications of Akir and Akira's words hung heavy in the air, highlighting the divide between Sahiba's new life in Australia and Angad's presence in India.

Sahiba took a deep breath, steeling herself for the conversation she knew needed to happen. "What about Papa?" she asked gently, her eyes meeting Angad's with a mixture of sadness and understanding.

There was a moment of uncomfortable silence as everyone grappled with Sahiba's question, unsure of how to respond.

Finally, Sahiba broke the tension, her voice steady yet compassionate. "Papa can come visit you at Nana and Nani's house whenever he wants," she said, her words a gentle reminder of the reality they faced.

The Brar family members exchanged somber glances, the weight of Sahiba's words sinking in. While they couldn't deny the truth of her statement, it was a sobering reminder of the distance that still existed between them.

Monga House

As Sahiba stepped into her childhood home, a wave of nostalgia washed over her. The familiar sights and sounds of Ludhiana enveloped her, stirring up memories long tucked away. The scent of her mother's cooking, the sound of children playing in the streets, and the warmth of her family's embrace all welcomed her back with open arms.

Walking through the door, Sahiba felt a sense of belonging she hadn't realized she'd been missing. This house, filled with so many cherished memories, held a special place in her heart. It was here that she had grown up, laughed, and dreamed of a future filled with love and happiness.

As Akir and Akira ran ahead, exploring every corner of their new surroundings, Sahiba couldn't help but smile at their excitement. It was a joy to see them so carefree, unaffected by the complexities of life.

Joining them in the living room, Sahiba's parents and Tayji greeted her with warm hugs and affectionate smiles. The familiar faces of her childhood brought a sense of comfort and ease, reminding her of the unwavering love and support she had always found within these walls.

Seerat and Keerat arrived soon after, their presence adding to the joyous atmosphere. Mahi, eager to play with her cousins, joined Akir and Akira in their exploration of the house, her laughter echoing through the halls.

As the children played, Keerat couldn't help but feel a sense of contentment wash over her. Watching Akir, Akira, and Mahi interact filled her with a sense of happiness.

Sitting down with them, Keerat smiled mischievously. "You know, there's going to be another baby soon," she announced, her eyes twinkling with excitement.

Akir and Akira's eyes widened in surprise, their curiosity piqued. "Another baby?" Akira exclaimed, her voice filled with wonder.

Mahi, always eager to join in the fun, chimed in. "The one in Mummy's tummy?" she asked, her eyes wide with anticipation.

Keerat nodded, her smile growing wider. "Yes, that one," she replied. "And another one too... in my tummy."

The revelation took everyone by surprise, their expressions shifting from shock to joy in an instant. Sahiba's parents exchanged knowing glances, their hearts filled with happiness at the prospect of welcoming another grandchild into the family.

Brar Mansion

As the family members gathered in the grand halls of Brar Mansion, anticipation hung thick in the air. Jasleen Bua, Pravjot Bua, Hansraj Phupa, Gurleen Chachi, Jaspal Chachu, Ekam, and Kiara exchanged excited whispers, eager to welcome Sahiba, Akir, and Akira into the fold.

As Angad stepped into Brar Mansion, a sense of anticipation filled the grand foyer. His family members, eager to meet Sahiba and the children, watched expectantly as he approached.

"Where's Sahiba and the kids, Angad?" Jaspal Chachu inquired, a hint of confusion in his tone.

Angad paused for a moment, collecting his thoughts before responding. "They're at Monga house," he explained calmly. "Sahiba isn't quite ready to come here, and I respect her decision."

There was a collective murmur of understanding among the family members as they absorbed Angad's words.

Garry, ever the supportive brother-in-law, chimed in, "Sahiba Bhabhi made it clear that whenever Angad Paji wants, he can go and visit the children."

Veer, his face lighting up with excitement, reached for his phone. "They were so cute!" he exclaimed, pulling up a video on his device. "Check this out."

As the video played, capturing the heartwarming moment of Angad meeting Akir and Akira for the first time, the room filled with smiles and laughter. Angad couldn't help but feel a swell of pride and affection as he watched the precious interactions between himself and his children.

The next day, Angad arrived at the Monga house with Garry, Veer, Kiara, and Ekam in tow. Santosh welcomed everyone in, her demeanor cordial but noticeably cool towards Angad. It was understandable, given the pain he had caused Sahiba. Despite this, she managed to exchange a few polite words with him.

Turning to Veer, Santosh’s face softened with genuine warmth. She hugged her youngest son-in-law tightly. "Congratulations Veer, Keerat gave us the good news about her pregnancy" she said with a broad smile.

Angad's eyes widened in surprise, Garry’s jaw dropped slightly, and Kiara let out an excited gasp. Ekam's face lit up with joy, her eyes sparkling.

Angad remained silent, his mind racing with thoughts. The news of Keerat's pregnancy was a reminder of how much life had moved on without him. He hoped this visit would be the first step towards mending the strained relationships with his wife and, more importantly, connecting with his children.

Veer beamed, "Thank you, Mummyji. We're all thrilled."

Santosh nodded, a hint of pride in her eyes, before excusing herself. "Let me get some tea and snacks for you all," she said, disappearing into the kitchen.

Kiara: I can't wait to meet Sahiba Bhabhi after so many years!

Ekam: Same here, Di. And to finally see Akir and Akira in person.

Just then, they heard Sahiba's voice calling out, "Akir, stop running! I need to tie your pagg (turban) properly."

Kiara and Ekam: Sahiba Bhabhi...

Sahiba stopped in her tracks, seeing Angad, Garry, Veer, Kiara, and Ekam standing there. She hadn't expected Angad to come so early in the morning, let alone with all his siblings. She took a deep breath, put on a nervous smile, and walked over to greet them.

Sahiba: (smiling nervously) Kiara, Ekam! It's so good to see you both. Congratulations on your wedding, Kiara, and your engagement, Ekam.

Kiara: (hugging Sahiba tightly) Bhabhi, it's so wonderful to see you! We’ve missed you so much.

Ekam: (hugging Sahiba) Yes, Bhabhi. And we can’t wait to get to know Akir and Akira. Where are they?

Before Sahiba could answer, Akir, a spitting image of his father, ran towards Angad, his face lighting up with joy.

Akir: Papa!

Angad knelt down, opening his arms wide as Akir launched himself into his embrace. Angad held him tightly, tears of happiness filling his eyes.

Angad: (voice thick with emotion) Hey, champ.

Sahiba watched this interaction, a mixture of emotions swirling within her. She was momentarily taken aback but then smiled, her eyes softening at the sight of father and son reunited.

Angad: (looking at Sahiba) May I tie his pagg?

Sahiba nodded her head without saying anything she handed the turban to Akir, who gave the pagg to Angad.

Akir: Here, Papa.

Everyone sensed the tension in the atmosphere. Garry decided to break the ice.

Garry: Sahiba Bhabhi, where is Akira?

Sahiba: Akira and Mahi are both playing upstairs. I’ll go and call them.

As Sahiba left to fetch the girls, Angad carefully tied Akir's turban. Veer, always one to capture memories, took out his phone to record the moment.

Veer: (grinning) This is a moment to remember.

Angad finished tying the turban, looking at his son with pride and joy.

Angad: There you go, champ. All set.

Akir: (smiling) Thanks, Papa!

Veer: (capturing the moment) Perfect. This is going to be a great memory.

Akira came down with Mahi, followed by Seerat and Keerat. She smiled brightly and ran to hug her father.

Akira: Papa!

Angad: (hugging Akira) There’s my little princess!

Mahi also ran and hugged Garry, her father.

Mahi: Papa!

Garry: (lifting Mahi) Hey, sweetheart!

As Angad was busy playing with Akir, Akira, and Mahi, Sahiba’s siblings and Angad’s siblings gathered to discuss the delicate situation.

Seerat: It's been tough for Sahiba, no doubt. She's been through so much because of Angad's actions.

Keerat: But despite everything, she's been such a strong and loving mother to Akir and Akira. She never let her own pain affect them.

Garry: Angad has changed, though. I've seen it. He's genuinely trying to make amends for his mistakes.

Veer: Yeah, he's been attending those anger therapy sessions, and he seems genuinely remorseful for what he's done.

Kiara: (thoughtfully) It's a difficult situation. On one hand, we can't ignore the pain Sahiba Bhabhi went through. But on the other hand, people do change.

Ekam: We can't overlook Sahiba Bhabhi's suffering, but we also can't deny Angad's efforts to become a better person.

Seerat: (nodding) It's true. We have to acknowledge both sides of the situation. But ultimately, it's up to Sahiba to decide what's best for her and the children.

Keerat: (firmly) Whatever happens, we'll stand by her and support her decisions. She deserves happiness after everything she's been through.

Seerat: You're right, Keerat. Sahiba has faced so much because of Angad. It's not just about her pain but also about the impact it had on her and her children's lives.

Keerat: Absolutely. But despite all the hardships, she never let her bitterness overshadow her love for Akir and Akira. She's always made sure they know their father loves them, even though he's not around.

Garry: And we can't ignore Angad's efforts to change. I mean, attending those anger therapy sessions takes courage. He's trying, genuinely trying, to make things right.

Veer: Yeah, he's not the same person he was before. I've seen him regretting his past actions, and that's a good sign.

Kiara: (pensively) It's a complex situation, though. Sahiba Bhabhi's pain is undeniable, but people can change. We have to consider both sides.

Ekam: That's true. We can't brush aside Sahiba Bhabhi's suffering, but we also can't ignore Angad's efforts to improve himself.

Seerat: (firmly) Ultimately, it's Sahiba decision. We'll support her no matter what she chooses. She deserves happiness and peace after everything she's been through.

Keerat: Absolutely. She's our sister, and we'll stand by her, no matter what. But we also have to keep an open mind about Angad. People can surprise you when given the chance to change.

Veer: Angad Paaji and Sahiba Bhabhi both need to have a conversation its been 6 years now

Just then Santosh walked in with tea and snacks agreeing to her youngest son-in-law.

Santosh: (setting down the tray) Here's the tea and snacks.

Veer: Thank you, Mummyji

Santosh: (nodding) You're welcome,I agree with you, Veer Puttar. It's important for them to talk and decide what they want to do.

As Sahiba approached Angad and the children, her heart pounded with uncertainty. She could feel the weight of everyone's eyes on her as she made her decision. Angad's gaze met hers, a mixture of surprise and apprehension flickering in his eyes.

Sahiba's voice trembled slightly as she addressed Akir and Akira, her children who had been the center of her world for so long.

"Sahiba: Akir, Akira, today do you want to go out with your papa and me?"

The twins' faces lit up with excitement, their eyes shining with anticipation. "Yes, yes!" they exclaimed in unison, their eagerness palpable.

Sahiba's gaze shifted to Angad, her emotions swirling as she awaited his response. Angad's quick nod of approval brought a wave of relief, though she couldn't shake the lingering doubts that lingered in her mind.

"Is that okay with you?" she asked, her voice softer now, laced with a hint of vulnerability.

He swallowed hard, his heart pounding in his chest. "Of course, Sahiba," he managed to say, his voice thick with emotion. "I'd love to."

As the realization sank in that they would be spending the day together as a family, a mix of emotions swept through the gathered crowd. Some felt hope, seeing this as a potential step towards reconciliation. Others felt uncertainty, unsure of what the future held for Sahiba and Angad.

But despite the myriad emotions swirling around them, one thing was certain: today marked a new chapter in Sahiba and Angad's journey—a journey filled with uncertainty, but also the possibility of healing and redemption.

To be contiued....
