Thanks for the tag and thread. KKR for the win rooting for KKR offcourse
Your favourite will surely loose.. I will celebrate if that happens
Here's a fun fact: Sunil Narine hasn't conceded a single boundary at Eden Gardens yet this IPL in two games.
Chasing a below par total of 150, Yashasvi Jaiswal carted skipper Nitish Rana to all corners in the opening over and the carnage never stopped as RR finished the task with almost 7 overs to spare. A lot of things changed between then and now. KKR now have the services of their regular skipper and Jaiswal hasn't really hit the ground running, like he did last year.
The “impact sub” has been a worthwhile trial but I feel it’s time to revert back to just playing XI’s. The sub has created an imbalance between bat v ball, it also covers up for poor selection and auction strategy - Tom Moody
A win for KKR will help them displace RR at the top of the table and a win for the Royals will ensure they remain unmoved at the top. Both teams got a few incrdible power-hitters from the Caribbean. Are we in for another run-fest in the city of joy?
A couple of injury updates: Ashwin and Buttler, two key RR players, missed the last game with niggles. Both are at the ground today; Buttler has his left knee and hamstring taped, and is gingerly warming up with the teams. And Ashwin is bowling on the side nets. We should know soon if they're fit for today.
Kalyan: "I get that some people don't like "impact player" rule. But every other popular team sport has multiple substitutes that replace the on field players(not just fielding like in cricket). Impact player rule can also be used to strengthen the bowling too."
Mahesh: "RR should continue with Maharaj in place of Ashwin. It does add variety to their bowling attack."
Pitch Report | Samuel Badree and Michael Clarke:"There's a disparity of 12 metres square of the wicket - 59m and 71m; down the ground - 75m. Expect the bowlers to be defending on the bigger side. We've seen some contrasting matches here so far - 208 narrowly defended, 161 quite easily chased. I think it (pitch) is pretty similar to what we saw the other day. We thought 190 was par, that was a day game, this is a night game. There's going to be some dew, it's extremely humid out here as well. Both teams will be looking to chase. It's a really good surface. You've got a lightning fast outfield, the boundaries are pretty consistent, nice even pitch, you want to bat at any stage. Maximise the new ball on a surface like this while it's rock hard."
