Are actresses a better investment?

Think about it; a female led multi-starrer has a lower budget since actresses get paid a fraction of what the males are paid (unfortunately); but film ends up recovering the same (if not more) as a Shahid Kapoor or Ranveer Singh film. Rather than sign ONE male actor, wouldnt it be a better investment to sign a Deepika and Kareena together? This would guarantee a much bigger return and more successful film. Is this untapped potential territory that bollywood should explore? Veere Di Wedding and Crew are examples, 100% success ratio so far.

I have not seen crew yet, will wait for ott release. But Veere Di Wedding was fun to see all the girls. I saw rhea confirming the news of part 2, can't wait for that. I love women centric movies, I am a fan of it. Hopefully all these actresses do fun comedy movie

I'm not even talking about whether you like the film or not; just look at the box-office performance of Veere Di Wedding and Crew. A female ensemble cast attracts attention

that's very true. Actresses get paid less and yes I agree producers get their money with female lead movies even if a top actress has a flop movie, the numbers get close to recovery money while if you see some of the young male actors, they cannot recover the budget when film flops.

taapsee pannu is much more confident than a lot of the top actresses even though she is not a star like them, she does so many women centric movies and it gets theatre release. I need to see more women centric movies whether it's many or one headline does not matter.

I think with female-centric films it needs a lot more going for it.. like the music, supporting actors, storyline etc whereas with a lot of male superstars people literally just come to watch them.

But tbf getting all that what I mentioned right still costs less than paying a male star. So I think it's true, in the upcoming years we'll see more and more films like Crew/Veerey di wedding.

You expect female actress to have same remuneration as male stars, but you aren't willing to expect same box office numbers as they give smiley36

How about female centric film scoring a 200 cr output, why earning 1/10 of big earners and then making it look like profitable output?

If not 200, why not 100 cr?

Deepika will never do one..she has 0 BO pull..let her stick to being SRK and HR's side kick

More power to those who are taking risks..bebo and alia have opened movies on their own names..and among the younger lot..kriti and kiara are shining bright and hope they also take more risks esp after crew giving hope

If not 200, why not 100 cr?

Other than the Khans and Hrithik, who guarantees that kinda output? Anomalies like Kabir Singh and Animal are rare. Do Ranveer and shahid guarantee 200 crore films on average?

keep in mind the budget for female centric films is also lower; so a lower return is still profitable
