Em Magaan is a good one - family oriented drama

Thavamai thavamirundhu- Cheran film, sad but good family values

Mozhi- Prithviraj and Jyothika film where Jyothika plays a mute and deaf person. Very good one.

Rhythm- Arjun and Meena film, about second chances in marriage. My fav of all time

Alaipayuthey is good- Tamil version of Saathiya/ much better too. Maddy is the OG choclate boy

Dum Dum Dum- Romcom with Maddy and Jyothika, they make plans to prevent their marriage and end up falling in love. Also my fav

Ullam Ketkume- College romance film about a group of 5 friends

Kanda Naal Muthal- Prasanna and Laila. Enemies to lovers trope.

Thenali, Panchathanthiram, Pammal K sammantham - kamal Hassan classics

Avvai shanmugi- Tamil version of chachi 420

Anbe Sivam- Another kamal cult classic, very sad but good humanitarian movie.

Oh he had string of hits in the end of 90s man... so cute. Everyone had a crush on him and it peaked with Alaipyuthey.

Kannathil Muthamittal - Maddy and Simran again, very emotional movie about a adopted kid's journey to find her biological mother who was a Srilankan Tamil rebel during the Ezha-Tamil war in 2000s.

You should try the other ones on my list, they are all gems in a cesspool of commercial duds.

Oooh some brilliant moves Anusha! Some of my favorites in that list especially dum dum dum - I LOVED that movie and preferred that over Minalle anyday! 😁

I can chip in with more! If it's the romance genre

* Mouna Raagam - no romance list can be complete without this classic. After her boyfriend dies Divya is married off to Chandra Kumar and she asks for a divorce, but has to live with him for a year to be divorced. The movie follows their life and how Divya falls in love with her husband! One of the best Mani Ratnam movies!

* Moondram Pirai (sadma) - another classic needs no synopsis

* Thullatha Naanum Thullum - Kutty is an aspiring singer whose voice and songs enthral Rukmini who wishes to meet him. But circumstances portray Kutty as a rogue and Rukmini ends up hating him, and she also loses her eyesight because of him - kutty takes care of Rukmini and helps her get her eyesight back. How these 2 unite forms the rest of the story. Vintage Vijay movie - one of my favorites!

Ha ha old/new doesn't matter, if it's good cinema I'll watch. I'm a movie junkie married to a movie junkie 😁 and hubby doesn't even care for language - he watches Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, Kannada, Hindi, Japanese, English -any movie really!

I stick to Tamil, Malayalam and Hindi, sometimes Telugu movies.

There's 1 more I remember one - Veruthe Oru Bharya - Jayaram and Gopika. Very nice movie!
