It actually showed the changes in girls life after marriage. That was the reason it managed to gain viewership for 8 long years. How life of a girl changes in various forms and respective roles. Being daughter then wife, daughter in law, becoming a mother, challenges of adjustment, duties between wife dil and mother, everything was beautiful portrayed, honestly that was best of yeh rishta,

Naira’s story was different I agree, but both the 2&3 had lot more similarities, this is when RS decided to make a arrange marriage work in gen 4 but is it really an arrange marriage.

I second you. OG Akshara and her story was so intricately woven. Even the parallel tracks had their own beautiful progression. I remember watching it like a ritual every single night with my sister. I have laughed, danced & cried with Akshara.

It was a simple story with simple characters living through the complexities of life and familial relationships. It was the era of reincarnations, hot vamps, four remarriages, dominating MIL when Rishta peeked into the normal lives & retold the essence of family with the slice of life concept raging as a breath of fresh air. I remember how they would include every little detail repetitively like daily Tulsi Pooja ritual, singing the morning aarti, taking out her slippers before entering the kitchen, Akshara tugging her dupatta at the headrest of the bed before sleeping. These habits get ingrained within the audience and makes them feel like they are living in that setting with the characters.

But they could never replicate that nuanced model ever. And with today's people who are constantly over stimulated bearing with their descending attention span is no joke. It's a challenge to hook people on the screens for 20 long minutes.

Ruhi toh bachhi thi, she might have said things in her bachpana.... These budhe log listened to a 6 year old and threw their pregnant grand daughter out, who could have given the same bachhi some motherly pyaar!! That's what it reflected today, at least now they realise what they did was not good for even Ruhi, they ruined not only Ak-Ab's life, but also Ruhi's as well...

Goenkas cannot keep anyone happy and neither give their kids good upbringing. They just ruin their children's lives and then play victim themselves. That's why I hate these people are still existing in this show to now ruin Abhira's life too.

I feel ruhi missing akshara & saying it to goenkas, 'might', push manish goenka to resume his search for akshara.

Fake abhir & then money scam, took his attention off his search & now he don't have to hide it from swarna also, with the news of new entry in sbs yesterday, shayad cvs will go abhir route now, as many were saying abhir could be a musician following his mumma's passion, krish is also moving that path, so everything could lead to abhir

Exactly, sometimes I still watch old episodes, 1st meeting of. Akshara and Natik, their fight on Katrina and Aishwarya. They meeting secretly, supportive bhabhi, that essence of early marriage. It was all so beautiful, Nakash naming ceremony. How Akshara had issues in marital life. She leaving home. Coming back. Misunderstanding of Natiks ema every thing.

I haven’t watched Seasons 2 & 3…so don’t know much about the history ..you could well be right ..my assumption was based on the simple point that the show has a triangular base ..however, if they veer off that track and make the two best of friends, I’d be the happiest ..these two actors have the chemistry to make that work big time !
