I am hoping your predictions will be wrong Bobby but I also agree with you that the buzz is low for this one. I do believe this is a very well made movie which makes it all the more depressing 😞. I don’t know what Dharma was thinking with this non promotional strategy. All of their efforts have been for social media and that’s it.

anyways, I like Sid and I hope this movie does well for him smiley20

Ek Villain, Marjavaan, Mission Majnu, Aiyaari, Jabariya Jodi, Thank God, A Gentleman, Indian Police Force are all non Dharma.

Sid took Shershah to KJo. Something KJo himself mentioned on KWK and said that it has brought them(Dharma) a lot of respect, and it won them the National Award. I say the scale is more than even here. Then again KJo really screwed Yodha here so scale is tipped back in Sid’s favor smiley36

Sid is no Vicky or Rajkumar Rao. But he’s not a bad actor by any means. And he’s had some good movies too. His movies get pushed around a lot in favor of others because relatively speaking he’s an easier target who will never bite back through his PR.

Ek Villain, mission Majnu are ekta kapoor production - might have something to do with KJo as they are close friends as someone mentioned here that Sid did get movies due to KJo’s contacts too.

as I said I like Sid since his kukkad Kamaal da days and I have no issue whatsoever was just surprised to see majority of his work is with KJo collaborations/association.

None of the OG students of KJo are bad actors but some getting flakes and some not for that collaboration, even though others probably have more work with others smiley36

Mission Majnu has nothing to do with Ekta or her production. It’s by Ronnie Screwwala and RSVP production. Jabariya Jodi was an Ekta production. Saying that KJo got him all these movies is rather reaching frankly and just a way to push the narrative that Sidharth Malhotra cannot do anything on his own and is only here because he allegedly has a relationship with KJo. It’s problematic from several angles to be honest.

Ekta screwed Jabariya Jodi in many ways. First by moving it around to cash in on Kangana and Hrithik controversy and then moved it one last time literally on the Monday of the week it was supposed to release. Akshay and R Balki screwed Aiyaari over so many times in 2018. Even Marjavaan got moved a couple of times. And now Yodha. The time before last when Dharma moved it for the fourth time or so Sid didn’t even post about it probably because he knew KJo and Dharma was just being ridiculous and they were gonna change it again. Sid just doesn’t like to get down and dirty with everyone else and the industry knows it so he’s an easy target.

I’m giving you side eyes for not appreciating my Siddy. But you ended this message on a very sweet note so 🫶🏽

Bolly lets be very clear - First of all no one said that ALL - there is a difference in majority and ALL. And oh pls - I have absolutely 0 interest in pushing any narratives here and never supported such narratives here you should know by now. - you are putting words in my mouth which I never said about Sid. I already said I like Sid and have been a fan since SOTy days! When it comes to pushing narratives it’s pretty hypocritical of you and few others here saying that it’s problematic as you all have been pushing other narratives about others actors and their personal life here at times.
I’m respectfully ending this discussion/ resting my case on this topic.

Jabariya Jodi..Aiyaari..God i forgot these movies ever existed..such disasters..poor Sid..he really struggled with BO..his last success at the BO was 8 years ago with K&S which was an ensemble movie..it is amazing how he managed to get lead roles when your last hit was in 2016 and your career started in 2012 itself and you are an outsider..definitely challenging the norm..

Whoa 😳

I know you didn’t say that. You just mentioned KJo and Ekta’s friendship with regards to EK and JJ. My response was a general response to the idea of KJo getting him his movies.

As far as hypocrisy goes, I don’t think I have ever suggested that any actor gets roles because they’re sleeping with the head of a big production company. And no, I’m not saying you suggested that in anyway. Again, it was a general commentary about many such statements that have been made here by some about Sid and KJo.

Yea I’m out of here too. Sorry Bobby. I hope this doesn’t mess up your topic too much.
