The revenge family didn't drag down the TRPs they kept the TRPs stable. The last week it didn't work because they literally showed Agastya being burned on the funeral pyre as precap for the entire week. That precap was a huge dud. The problem here was that they could have brought the revenge family later and proceeded with Imlie-Agastya past connection and Kairi story. They delayed it until it had no significance whatsoever. They did not explore tracks which could have brought even more drama than the revenge family if brought at the right time.

we didnt get Agastya imlie childhood connection track too. That pair of shoes that they both had scene feel like useless now

Seriously these creatives have given us so much heartbreak by promising so much things but not acting on it.

He is getting married to Imlie because of the vada. And that is why he will support his wife. I have no problem with majboor shadi. But here Surya is rightfully guilty of ruining Imlie's life. So he should support her. But yes I do want that badass attitude wala Surya back.

The negative family and majboor male lead may not help. The above shows if I remember correctly had a very positive family who accepted this relationship and helped them navigate the marriage. Actually one of the shows main the male lead had a fiancé he ditched to marry the bhabhi to save her from social disgrace and to save his grandfather. She turned vamp lateron too. Isliye I see potential just not sure if the makers will get enough time to show a good story coz this will take time. Agar nai mila toh like Sharada said they will show a ghost Agastya coming to Imlie in a dream asking her to move on. It will be like she settled with Surya.

Family has to be balanced. It should have both negative and positive characters. Some people have to be against the bahu. Otherwise there won't be drama. Surya has already become positive. Two positives or two negatives cannot lead to progress in the story.

That's why Imlie's story was stagnant till the made Chaudhury's positive first.
