Theatre owners (especially Single Screen ones) depend on the filmindustry to gain their livelyhood and to maintain a possibility for people to have a 'get-away' for some hours. SRK and Ranbir (respective to YRF, Red Chillies/Atlee and Vanga/T-Series) and also Sunny/Gadar2 attracted even long-time absent movie-goers.

This year seems devoid of big banner movies - especially the first half. Thats why I am actually hoping that BMCM hits it big, even though the trailer and songs have been snoozefests. Yodha with a different actor could have been a good bet, but Sid just doesnt have the BO pull to cash on the action genre (yet). Maybe he will pull off a Shershah here

Honestly, this year depends on Akki. BMCM, Welcome to the jungle, Housefull 5, Singham Again (cameo). He needs to deliver big time for Indian BO because Ajay can deliver superhits, but cant do blockbusters.

And then we can have some other big hits like Bhool Bhulaiya 3, Jigra and Deva. But still I dont think its going to get close to Pathaan-Jawaan-Animal-Gadar2 period which we saw last year

You should read the post carefully before saying “putting RK over HR” ! That is not what is happening in the article. There is a logical reason why they take fighter names from the said genre.
