A huge game is scheduled to take place on Sunday in the ongoing Women's Premier League 2024. It will see two powerhouses coming up against each other at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. This game is also important in order to make it to the playoffs.

Royal Challengers Bangalore will face Delhi Capitals on Sunday evening. Delhi are at the top but are coming off in a rather unfortunate way with just one run. But they are in a good position, and a win here will help them qualify. Bangalore, on the other hand, are in a tricky position and can't afford to lose this game.

DEL-W vs BAN-W: Head-to-Head

RCB have not won a single match against Delhi in the WPL so far. There have been three games so far, and Delhi have won all those games.

DEL-W vs BAN-W: Pitch Report

So far, four games have been played in Delhi in the WPL 2024, and the team that has batted first has won all four games. That suggests how difficult it gets to chase in the second inning. So if you win the toss, bat first.

WPL 2024 Delhi Capitals vs Royal Challengers Bangalore: Playoffs race — what the teams need to do

The Capitals, currently placed second, will become the second team to qualify for the WPL 2024 playoffs if they win Sunday’s fixture against the Royal Challengers, with Harmanpreet Kaur’s Mumbai Indians having become the first team to book their knockouts berth with a thrilling win over the Gujarat Giants on Saturday.

A victory for the third-placed Royal Challengers over the Capitals, meanwhile, will take them to eight points and strengthen their net run rate as well as the chances to make the playoffs ahead of the UP Warriorz, who are breathing down their neck in the fourth place with six points and a game — against the out-of-the-playoffs-race Giants — to go.

Pre-Match Analysis:

It was Delhi Capitals' match to lose as they fell short by a mere one run in their last outing against UP Warriorz where they failed to score 4 runs from the last 5 balls despite having 3 wickets in hand. This loss meant that they still had to wait to confirm their knockout qualification. Currently, with 4 wins and 2 losses, they are placed 2nd in the standings with 8 points.

Royal Challengers Bangalore are not been their best at the moment as they handed Gujarat Giants their first win of the tournament losing by 19 runs in the massive run-chase. Georgia Wareham (48) and Richa Ghosh (30) battled hard but weren’t enough to guide the side to a win. With 3 wins and as many losses they are spotted at the 3rd place in the standings with 6 points. Skipper Smriti Mandhana has a huge role to play in this match having mustered 243 runs in 6 matches this season.

What they said:

Really pleased with Wareham, thought we might lose by a bigger margin but her knock was amazing. We'll learn from our mistakes today, we'll understand the conditions better - Smriti Mandhana, RCB captain, after the loss against Gujarat Giants

What to expect: Some high scores have been posted, and some low totals have been defended. But across all games, the players have had to contend with the low bounce and slow nature of the surface, with teams batting first having an advantage.
