๐ŸWest Indies vs India, 3rd T20I : Providence Stadium, Guyana ๐Ÿ

India vs West Indies 8 August 2023 3rd T20 Cricket Match - Crickhit

Team India will face off against West Indies in the third T20I match at the Providence Stadium in Guyana  Today.

It is a must-win clash for Hardik Pandyaโ€™s side after losing the first two T20I matches, the second one on Sunday, by two wickets at the same venue!

Rovman Powellโ€™s Windies are already 2-0 up in the series and need a win today to take an unassailable lead in the five-match T20I series. This will be the first series win for the West Indies over India since 2016.

For India, young Tilak Varma has been the only consistent batter in the T20I series, scoring his maiden fifty in the last month. Pandya will need his batters to step up to the challenge in this must-win clash against the West Indies.
The eternal dilemma with Indian cricket in recent times has been the balance between long-term planning and short-term results.

During their ODI World Cup win in 2019 and their T20 title victory in 2022, England showed the benefits of having a vision without compromising on results.

It is a template that the Indian team is still far from cracking as they look to transition towards a phase beyond the senior players.

Captain Hardik Pandya has yet to impress on this tour, despite the results of Team India in the first two games. Can he charge his boys up for this blockbuster game. Let us see, and hope for the best for our team.

The management is experimenting with how strong our team is without our senior players' presence, the result is these losses.

Today' match is crucial, our players have to play under stress. ๐Ÿ˜•

The West Indies are just one win away from sealing the 5-match series against India, and they will be keen to make an impact in the third contest to seal the series. India, on the other hand, will come in hard.

In the previous clash, Hardik Pandya did not use Axar Patel as West Indies had left-handers in the middle, specially Nicholas Pooran in fine rhythm as well. Will Pandya use the all-rounder with the ball in this clash?

It is turning out to be a revenge series for West Indies after they lost the ODI and Test series against India. Without senior players like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and more, the Hardik Pandya-led Men in Blue look clueless.

Sanju Samson is under the spotlight of losing his spot in the T20 side of India. In the first two games, Samson's performance has been below average. He needs to score in this game, for sure.

Nicholas Pooran close to 100 sixes in T20I

West Indies batter Nicholas Pooran, who was the 'Player of the Match' in the second T20I on Sunday, is just 7 big hits short of completing 100 sixes in T20I cricket. Can Pooran achieve this feat in this match.

Hardik will definitely be disappointed at the slip-ups from his team during crucial moments in both the games so far. India had the upper-hand to get across the line but wasn't able to make the right decisions when they mattered the most.

The batting in particular hasn't lived up to expectations, and it is a critical area to address as they head into do-or-die territory for the series. The lack of runs from Suryakumar Yadav and Shubman Gill has been a big blow for the visitors, and the duo will be keen to get back to run-scoring ways.

The bowling has over performed to keep India in the race, but the batters haven't entirely adapted to the two-paced nature of the surfaces on offer. Hitting through the line isn't a smart option on these decks and some of India's next-gen batters haven't been able to adapt successfully. Credit to West Indies here as their bowlers have bowled with utmost discipline and clarity to stifle the Indian batting line-up. How the young batting unit performs will once again hold the key to the outcome of the final game of the WI leg before the series moves to USA.

Former India opener Wasim Jaffer wants Indian captain Hardik Pandya to use Axar Patel's bowling more efficiently. โ€œThat has been the problem with Axar Patel, starting from his IPL franchise to the national team. Whenever a left-hander comes into the crease, it feels like he is not going to bowl. I can understand when Nicholas Pooran is on strike, but I thought when he and Shimron Hetmyer got out, I was surprised that he was not thrown the ball there. Obviously, you had Yuzvendra Chahal to bowl his final over, and I was honestly surprised that he did not bowl,โ€ said Jaffer
