Gujarat Titans have been dominant in the IPL since their inception last year. Gujarat Titans have been on a roll and they will make total use of their home conditions against LSG. LSG will be without their captain Rahul for the season and will find it difficult to counter this strong Gujarat team away from home.

They won the title on their first try and are at the top of the table this year as well. 

Hardik Pandya has been leading his team with grace and vigor throughout. 

Gujarat Titans have lost only 3 matches in the league and have won 7 out of the ten matches they have played.

Lucknow Super Giants are in the top four as well currently, however, they will have to continue performing well and move on from their recent loss against RCB. 

They will be without captain KL Rahul for the remainder of the season, which will be a big loss for them.

Gujarat Titans won their previous match after handing a crushing defeat to Rajasthan. 

They won the match by 9 wickets. Bowling first they restricted the opposition batsmen to 118 runs. 

Rashid Khan was the star performer as he picked up 3 wickets while conceding only 14 runs in his 4 overs. Fellow Afghani spinner Noor Ahmad also got 2 wickets to his name.

In the batting department, the Titans top order made the chase look very simple as they reached the target within 14 overs. 

They lost only 1 wicket in their chase. Wriddhiman Saha scored an unbeaten 41 runs while captain Hardik Pandya remained not out at 39 runs off just 15 balls.

The Lucknow Super Giants had their previous match against CSK washed out due to rain and could obtain only 1 point from that match. Prior to that, they lost to RCB by 18 runs in a high-voltage, thrilling contest. 

They bowled first in that match and got the RCB batters down to 126 runs in the first innings. Naveen ul Haq was the top bowler as he claimed 3 wickets. 

Leg Spinners Ravi Bishnoi and Amit Mishra joined the party as well by picking up 2 wickets each.

There were not many positives from the batting department, as the LSG batters failed to chase down this mediocre total on a tough pitch.  Krishnappa Gowtham was the top scorer for the team with his 23-run knock in the middle.

Speaking of the previous matches of both teams, GT registered a win against Rajasthan Royals (RR), whereas LSG’s last match against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) was washed out and couldn’t be completed due to the rain. Wriddhiman Saha was the top-scorer for the Gujarat-based team in their win over RR, scoring brilliant 41 runs off 34 balls in the run chase. Among bowlers, Rashid Khan picked up three wickets for GT in the first innings. Meanwhile, Ayush Badoni hammered a quickfire 59 off 33 deliveries for LSG in their clash against CSK. Although Badoni remained unbeaten, the match was called off due to rain with four balls to spare.

LSG currently is in the third position of the IPL 2023 points table and will look to make their way into the top two. On the other hand, GT sit at the top and would be focused on maintaining its dominance. It is also noteworthy that Krunal Pandya is expected to captain Lucknow in the absence of KL Rahul, who has been ruled out of the remaining ongoing season following a thigh injury.

With an average first innings score of 192 in the IPL, the surface at Ahmedabad's Narendra Modi Stadium benefits batsmen. It is on this knife's edge that they run into the top-ranked side, that has found the going smooth despite not being at their best, especially at home. Having lost three out of their five outings here, there is a certain fallibility to the line-up even after a rare hiccup while failing to chase down a total. 

Their last outing against Delhi saw them lose while chasing for only the second time in 14 attempts, with their skipper Hardik Pandya taking up the blame for failing to finish the chase despite getting a half-century.

However, a clinical performance in the last game against Rajasthan Royals would've again invigorated their campaign.
