After 6 yrs leap. The Birlas and Goenkas are happy in their world with Ruhi. While Akshara stays with Abhinav and Abhir. One day Abhi is met with an accident and is admitted in the Birla hospital. Hearing which the two families reach there only to find Akshara talking to the attending doctor about Abhi’s condition. Manjari unable to control her emotions slaps Akshara and lashes out on her as to how happy they were until she reentered their lives only to land Abhi in the hospital again. She goes on to vent on about what a bad luck Akshara brings to both the families. With Arohi fueling the hate and looking at Manjari’s worsening condition Birlas chastise Akshara. Manish finally intervenes and inquires about Akshara being here in Udaipur and coincidentally with Abhimanyu in the hospital, only to be interrupted by the doctor who comes to ask Akshara for the necessary signatures to be made for Abhi’s surgery, shockingly addressing her as Mrs. Akshara Birla.
Everyone looks on shocked as Akshara finishes the paperwork. After the initial shock wears off Manish finally demands answers from her. Thus, Akshara starts to narrate the untold tale of why they separated years back yet still being each others everything. The day Neil died Abhi was devastated. He also knew that Akshara would face a lot more hate now than she ever did in her entire life. Abhimanyu wanted her to go far away from him and his family and start a new life for herself. He broke her beyond repair and divorced her, so she hates him enough to never look back. However, he didn’t expect her to leave Udaipur. He tries to find her as best as he can, so he doesn’t attract unnecessary attention. (The first phone call doesn’t happen in this timeline) Badepapa comes as a blessing when he informs Abhi her whereabouts and asks him to accompany him. However Abhi knew he couldn’t show any affection anymore. He rejects the offer hoping Badepapa convinces her to come back.
However, nothing goes as planned when Akshara refuses to go back and cuts all contact. Akshara on the way to Pathankhot, in her disheveled state meets a kind stranger named Abhinav who takes her to a girls hostel, to only be evicted in the middle of the night. She gets arrested for being mistaken for a prostitute and again is saved by the same stranger who comes looking for her. Taken aback by his utmost kindness she questions him harshly about his intentions of helping her. He refers to himself as the “acha aadmi”, an orphan, who never received any kindness from most of the strangers he met in his journey of life. He thus decided that he would help anyone in need and spread happiness as much as he can. Akshara finds him to be like her, the naive and selfless person who was only ever berated and humiliated for her traits. The next day Abhinav drops her off at her friend’s house only to find her walking back again.
Confronted by him, Akshara refuses to go to her friend asking him for one more favour, promising to pay back her debt. He takes her back to his small but cozy one room house to shelter her for a few days till she finds a job to survive. Later that day she faints and gets admitted in the nearest government hospital only to find out that one of her twins survived, overwhelming her with happiness. She immediately contacts Abhi but gets rejected every single time, and gives up after 5 more tries. Here Abhi is struggling to hold the fort with Manjari and Arohi not being in good health. He rejects Akshara’s advances in front of the family to make sure he keeps up appearances. Later, he calls her back in secret to hear her coice once. The call is received by a stranger who identifies himself as Akshara’s well wisher and informs him of her condition. Hearing that one of their babies survived and realising Akshara is all alone away from family in such a critical time, Abhi makes up an excuse of attending an urgent surgery scheduled in two days.
After posing to be reluctant a couple of times, agrees when Mahima urges him to go on and that they would take care of Manjari and Arohi. He immediately rushes to Pathankhot to look for Akshara. When he reaches the hospital, she blasts at him cor coming now after treating her like nothing and not even bothering to find out if she was alive or not. Abhi finally breaks down and reveals his brilliant plan of driving her away from him, especially his family. They hold on to each other and cry their hearts out, grieving the loss of their brother and a baby, also unable to contain their happiness of becoming parents. They are then awkwardly disturbed by Abhinav who recognises Abhi to be the same Abhimanyu Birla who was a close friend of his when he was in the orphanage. He also remembers Neil who was adopted by the Birla family only to find out he was no more. Abhi decides to take Akshara back to Udaipur as it’s very risky to leave her unattended in unknown place without proper medical facilities.
Akshara outright rejects the idea of going back worried that she would be put in constant stress by both families. It would only further increase the complications for her and the baby. Reluctantly Abhi agrees to leave her in the care of Abhinav and Priya her close friend. Akshara bids adieu to Abhi, taking a promise from him to visit her every month when its time for her monthly check ups. Abhi accompanies her to the checkups along with Abhinav and Priya, making professional excuses. Unfortunately Akshara goes into labour in the seventh month. Abhi is unreachable owing to network and bad weather. They struggle to find cabs and any mode of transport in the heavy rain. After a lot of struggle they reach the hospital where Akshara takes a promise from them to save the baby at any cost. When put in a position to choose between the mother or the child, Abhinav reluctantly chooses the baby as a proxy husband unbeknownst to the doctor. Akshara delivers a baby boy prematurely and is put in an induced coma for 4 days.
The next day of the delivery, Abhi is informed of the situation and blasts at Abhinav for not contacting him on time and for choosing the baby over Akshara. Abhi reaches the next day and is completely shaken looking at Akshara’s condition and equally mesmerised holding his son for the first time. He apologises to Abhinav for being so rude and thanks him for saving both his wife and the baby. Abhi stays with Akshara for two more days till she wakes up and they admire their son, the miracle of their lives and name him Abhir. Abhi receives a call on the 4th night from Mahima to inform him that Manjari has landed herself in the hospital once again. Looking at the torn Abhi, Akshara assures him that she will take care of herself and that he should return quickly. Albeit reluctantly, Abhi returns to Udaipur to find out that Manjari threw a complete fit on hearing Akshara’s name from Goenka’s and has landed herself in the hospital once again.
Mahima then informs Abhi on how dangerous it would be for Manjari to have an attack again, which may land her in her death bed the next time. Abhi is completely distraught and curses his inability to keep everything under control. And for the first time after many months he has a severe panic attack. Sharing his dilemma with Akshara, both make a plan of keeping herself and Abhir far away from Udaipur for everyone’s peace including their own. They make an elaborate plan of faking Abhinav to be Akshara’s husband and Abhir’s father. Abhinav readily agrees as he has no one else in his family and considers them his own. They shift to Kasauli and keep up appearances with Abhi visiting them every month. Akshara makes Abhir understand their peculiar situation and how he has two fathers one who birthed him and one who saved him. Abhir eventually realises that his family is not as simple as others and accepts it as it is. His “dada” being Abhimanyu and “papaji” being Abhinav.
Even though Abhimanyu is extremely jealous of Abhir and Abhinav’s closeness, he eventually compromises for Abhir’s happiness and the better childhood he had than they ever did. Abhinav and Muskan meet as neighbours when Abhir turns 4, and fall in love but are unable to get married due to the situation they are in. After 2 years of courtship, Akshara finds out about them and immediately informs Abhimanyu. They decide that Abhinav shouldn’t compromise on his happiness of having his own family and shifts to Udaipur without informing anyone from the Goenka family. Bade papa is informed of the new address of Abhinav and Muskan to send gifts. Abhi shifts them to a 2 bedroom apartment and is happy to be spending more time with his family and finally bonding with Abhir like he always dreamed. One such day Abhimanyu meets with the accident and Akshara is contacted on the emergency.
