Team India - Where art thou?

As look at the last few series and team India (along with Asia Cup)

1. Seniiors have really not performed and “workload management” is the new buzz word for taking time off. Especially in cases like VK where his lack of performance is not good enough anymore. Especially with a good knock followed by zero.
2. we have youngsters brimming with talent and hunger for success. It shows in how team Afghanistan has shown up in Asia cup and had v tough losses but provided such close matches and wins. Performance can be the only criteria

3.  We are experimenting is the other buzzword. Everything is an experiment in the name of WC prep. Really ? One doesn’t want to win every series and tournament have a set pattern to success with some flexibility.
4. Don’t get put down with failure or just celebrate success. For eg. Was it not clear with result vs Hongkong. Team Indias bowling issues should have been really clear with the score they made vs India followed by 38 all out vs Pak

5. Easy dropped catches that prevent victories or poor 19th over by frontline bowler cannot be simply excuses away. In real life do you get a chance to mess up so badly and still expect to show up next day with a pat on the back?

And yes we actually won series and games but those compositions didn’t have some of the “frontline seniors” …. If anything that’s made a lot of mess as I don’t think our team has any stability at this time :(. Sadly so.

Hopefully it all comes together for WC but certainly not going to happy by magic to produce magical runs.

Rant over - hopefully they take this loss hard of being ousted from Asia cup and let that motivate them to perform at highest levels!!!

In my opinion we don't need to win all games or series.

But players need to play consistently.  Winning will follow.

For a front line bowler, conceding only 10 runs without taking any wickets in 4 overs is better than taking 4 wickets by giving 60 runs in 4 overs.

For a front line batter, hitting 20 runs in 10 balls is better than hitting 40 runs in 60 balls.

So on so fourth.

Showing consistency else where is leading to frustration.

Dropping catches, losing wickets in succession, losing wickets in the same fashion are just to name a few.

Players need to concentrate on physical and mental strength along with practicing.

Cheers..
