2. but trying to paint a better picture of reality to her daughter is a parenting technique which many parents use , to give them sense of personal security and to find an anchor in themselves to be happy.
This is where MM failed at with priya in making her self aware and free of guilt of wrongdoing of a man who just happened to be her father and to not associate him with her, she went on with mard dard infront of her growing up daughter and she turned khadoos wearing that trauma and projecting down her self worth and abandoning self agency through it🤪.
And so did Ram’s dad ,instead of telling him to care for himself , he said family, family, family which was name sake kind to him and never belonged to him/ made him belong to them, And it gave ram low self worth and insecure attachment wala man child syndrome.🤪
And Priya actively going against her mom’s parenting and indulging her daughter into imaginary adventures when it is supposed to reality reminds me of this scene in “the pursuit of happiness” by all means, the kid needs to be protected of certain harsh realities evil or not, that the world presents.
I know I should not compare… but, I couldn’t find a better example.
(This actually happened with Chris gardner, and his son believed he was living in an adventure through out the time….. I am quoting his son…)
Christopher Gardner Jr. recalls "I couldn't tell you that we were homeless, I just knew that we were always having to go. So, if anything, I remember us just moving, always moving. On private adventure, just the two of us."
But as she sees her grow, sees her understand things better, and starting to ask questions…. then she might open up completely about her family…
It is not like she hid her father completely… she did say about her Prince Charming and his characters to Pihu and that is something she is understanding as of now.
As the time goes by, she will may be ask and wants to know about her father, she has the time that she spent here with her, so that she can think and make her mind and process info.
P.S.: It is still wrong on Priya’s side to separate father and daughter(though it wasn’t her intent as she tried talking to him 4-5 times, and that she has been blackmailed and guilt hammered on , similar to ram), but she made her choice, given her circumstances…. may be for better at that point of time🤷♀️.
And she is still stuck at “I will not break for my kid”, but she did🤪, when ram was in her proximity ☺️😆
