He is obsessed with her and she was needy in terms of emotional support.

Apparently things were fine as long as her father was alive and he also managed her money well. After her father's death things went downhill for her because of bad management by her mother. Then she became ill because of brain tumor. Sridevi took her to the best cancer centre in the world.

They botched up her surgery. And around the same time her sister also started fighting with her and Boney Kapoor was there lending his rather large shoulder to cry on.

One thing is that neither Sridevi nor Boney Kapoor were in sound financial position when they got married. Boney's films flopped and Sridevi lost a lot of money because of bad investments made by her mother. So it can't be said that he married her for money or she him for money.

They both got what they wanted from this marriage.

Boney Kapoor was majorly obsessed with Sridevi. He got his brother Anil Kapoor to continually sign films with her from the 80s until she retired in 1997 with Judaai (co-starring Anil and produced by Boney)... - so he would have an excuse to land up on their sets and get to know her better. In fact "Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja" produced by Boney and starring Anil + Sri was launched in 1987, shooting continued on-and-off until it's 1993 release.

Boney would have done whatever it takes to get closer to Sridevi. Even if that means inviting her into his home as a rakhi sister to live with his wife and kids. This is the definition of a creep.

Not to put it all entirely on him, but Sri came from a super odd and isolated social setup, she had been acting since the age of 4 and wasn't brought up in the real world, she grew up on film sets and living as different characters non-stop... that takes a huge toll on you... I think she was vulnerable in some ways, but also perhaps manipulative in others. Her insecurity and vulnerability (after her parents' death) drew her to being receptive of rich married men's charms.

I'm not sure in fact if she ever knew her situation was as creepy as it was. Throwback: When Boney Kapoor confessed to ex-wife that he loves Sridevi

See, I'm a huge fan of her movies. So was my mom. She would also say pretty much what you did. That Sridevi was brought up in a weird setup where she didn't really have the capability to think for herself.

My rebuttal was usually this. She had enough sense to know Boney was Mona's husband. She had enough sense to pretend sisterly affection because she knew a romantic interest was wrong. She knew the man had 2 young children.

She went ahead and had the affair anyway.

When she became pregnant, she had the awareness to demand Boney divorce his wife and marry her instead of pulling a Dharam and adopting his own kids.

Sridevi had enough awareness of the world to have done all this. So she certainly had the awareness not to have done it. What she didn't have was a moral compass.

Boney is a loathsome insect, but it doesn't excuse Sridevi.

Sridevi was immoral to have an affair with a married man who she tied rakhi too. Boney no doubt was lustful towards sridevi.

But sridevi too had no shame in having affair after affair with married men only.

Sridevi was punched by boney's mother too after she got to know about Boney and sridevi.

True apparently she was physically abused by Boney mother and it was common public knowledge.

Frankly the whole thing is so messy and because of that so many lives were a big mess.

Credit to Arjun and Anshula who after the whole sordid mess helped Jhanvi and Khushi and stood by them.

KJo should've asked Jhanvi about this.. rather than questioning Sara about Saif's presence.

As much as people like to refer to Sri Devi as an icon, I NEVER liked her. Madhuri is a celeb that was an icon for me...

This is the thing. Art and artist need to be separated. Sridevi was immensely popular, more so than Madhuri because Madhuri was not that known south of the Vindhyas. I mean I knew her because I followed Hindi films, but majority of south filmgoers didn't give a damn about Mads.

Secondly, Sridevi was an amazing actor while Madhuri was average. She was a better dancer and looker.

But Madhuri clearly had more personal ethics.

I don't know much about the South, but I think Bollywood films always just catered to Hindi/Urdu audience. So to be considered an icon it is the target audience that I'd consider. NGL I found Sri Devi pretty ugly, other than her expressive big eyes. And as harsh as it is, looks play such a big role to be liked by the masses.

And Sridevi was very liked by the masses in Hindi belt, in the south, in the east, in the west, pretty much all over India.

Madhuri was not.

Movies ran on Sridevi's shoulders. Madhuri had many hits but exactly one movie which ran on her name alone.

Make no mistake. Sridevi was very much an icon.

It's shameful on Sridevi's part to break trust of your close friend who supported you, have you shelter. And on return she had a love affair, child and later get married to husband of your friend.

It's said that Sridevi didn't allow Boney to meet his children from Mona. Does that not make her a cruel, vicious person?

Boney was a cheater and coward to have left his wife Mona and the two kids. Disgusting.

Madhuri was clearly a better person. She had affair with Sanjay Dutt when he was single and as soon as she realised his link ups with bomb explosion, she broke all connections.

Other than Sanjay she doesn't seem to have any link ups.

Sridevi didn't wanted Boney to have connections with his children from previous marriage. That's why arjun n anshula never used to hang out with Jhanvi n khushi like today. Sridevi seemed like a typical step mother.

Boney was a bast**rd who was pathetic as father n still kjo called him protective father 🤣He is not a protective father he is a father who put struggles in his children's lives.
