Say something I'm giving up on you -- A Great Big World, Christina Aguilera
Can't post the link as a newbie.
It's a sober reminder of how powerless we are in the face of the inevitable, the heartaches and of the kinda goodbyes I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy.
Enya - Only Time First-time listened to this more than a decade ago during my college days; it was my ringtone for some time. The melody is so touching, and Enya's voice is magical.
I grew up in a small town in the middle of tropical rainforest; listening to melodies like this while watching heavy monsoon rain falling over the forest and hills or fireflies swarming the canopy was a great feeling.
Edited by radix - 1 years agoMy god, there are so many but I’m this one now 🥹
This is a song that really puts me in my feels in the true sense of the word. Sometimes it does more than that 😭😭😆
The translation is a little rough but do check it out.
https://youtu.be/NbyHNASFi6U Although it's not a particularly great song, it makes me think of my middle school years. 😆
1. Mera kuch samaan.
2. Kaise batayein kiun tujhko chaahe.
3. Kya uss gali mein kabhi tera jaana hua.
One of the songs connected to a bittersweet memory is Night Changes.
I listen to it sometimes, remembering a time I used to talk to a boy late at night. We would discuss songs, our love lives, the planets, frogs 😂 We could really talk for hours about the most nonsensical things.
People thought we were dating, but we were always just friends, the best of friends. A connection without the complications of romantic love.
Then we grew up and grew apart, talked less, dated others, and built another life. I invited him to my wedding. He promised to come, but never even called.
I woke up at 5 AM the morning after the wedding and asked him why. He texted back “lots of work” along with his best wishes. It was the last message we ever sent each other. Our priorities had changed.
This song is soothing to me, even if it’s nostalgic and reminds me of a beautiful friendship lost to time.
That sounds truly magical Your description is so soothing. Where did you live?
