The Indian women's TT team started off the campaign with a bang by defeating South Africa 3-0 in their group match.

Doubles team of Sreeja Akula and Reeth Tennison beat Lailaa Edwards and Danisha Jayavant Patel in straight games.

Star TT player Manika Batra took India's domination in the match to the next level and defeated Mushfiquh Kalam 11-5, 11-3, 11-2.

Sreeja Akula beat Danisha Jayavant Patel. India, however, tasted defeats in lawn bowls, swimming (50m butterfly and 400m freestyle) and cycling events. Also, the India women's cricket team is batting against Australia in the cricket competition.

Later in the day, the women's hockey team will face Ghana.
