I don't think apart from her work kriti is interested in any other stuff.

She has literally friend zoned all the guys right from Sid Malhotra to varun dhawan to arjun kapoor to Vicky Kaushal, all of them are like buddies to her and kartik is no different.

It's just that both of them are outsiders and hail from north India, are engineers and have made a name for themselves in the industry without any backing so people want them to be together. 

The birthday message was really sweet. They seem to have a solid mutual respect towards each other. 

I can see why everyone wants them to date
