For someone who is not a fan of any particular Bollywood star, a movie has to be entertaining enough for me to drag my ass to the theater and watch. For instance, I found the trailer of Bhool Bhulaiya 2 entertaining. So I went and watched. It was worth it. I haven’t found the trailer of anything else interesting enough. There’s way too many options online. I don’t miss the theater experience. Learned to live without it in the last 2.5 years. Probably the same reason for majority.

Big budget movies ka koi faeda nai h agar story hi bakwas ho. Ajkal log sirf actor/actress ko dekh ke movie dekhne nai jate, thoda content bhi acha aur entertaining hona chahie,jo inn logo ke paas hai nahi 😆

You only really can so see the movie if you have the extra time/money. An I have found nothing really worth seeing in the cinema. I catch them on OTT but that’s more do to happenstance.

Preach!! It is even a task to finish most of the trailers now, think people would want to spend 250-350 bucks per head and drive to a cinema hall to watch something they know has little to no entertainment value. For everyone contemplating why BB2 was a hit, this is it. It promised light fun and entertainment and it delivered on that. Rest of them are failing for the same reason too.

A movie has to offer audience some experience other than the feeling that they completely wasted their money.

I can’t trust WOM. Bhool 2 was great ? It was decent. JJJ was bad ? It was awesome 👏

1. Corona - the BREAKAGE and gap in going to the cinemas.

2. Lesser PASSION for making long lasting films.

3. CORPORATE's influence, churning and completing films like factory products.

4. Lack of good writers.

5. OTT platforms, easy access , internet, cheaper home projectors.

Films should cut their massive budgets especially actors.

Plus pay more to writers and technicians.

Music is only remixes.

It doesn't matter how big the star is, if the film is entertaining it will do well. If it becomes boring it will flop

Plus now trailers are important, most of them are judged on trailers and music and if audience does not like it they will not go.

All indie films will do well on OTT and not in theaters anymore.

If you look at the success films all have had great entertainment at its core be it Pushpa, RRR, KGF, Vikram, BB2.

There might have been problematic scenes in the movies but at its core all provided entertainment and we're not boring

You're already paying for OTT subscription to watch multiple movies in one platform, then why pay the same or more amount of money to buy just one ticket for a single movie?

Movies come on OTT within a month of theatrical release, which means even the pirated HD print is also easily available on internet. Also add the cost of petrol and popcorn, that is spent on a movie outing.

Even for larger than life films, which deserve big screen viewing, the audience is not coming in same number like it would've happened before pandemic. KGF 2 is the biggest Blockbuster post-pandemic but high ticket prices were a big factor in that.

It's Hindi version beat the lifetime collection of all Bollywood films by a big margin but it's footfalls were still low. Dangal, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, PK, Sultan, TZH and Sanju made less money but their footfalls are still more than KGF 2.

KGF2 ka footfall crossed 5 crore
