Another potential reply to Starplus for the complaint that people can help edit-
This reply is highly unsatisfactory.
All you have done is point out what has happened in the show. Yet you have not recognized WHY the audience is upset with this track.
Do not insult the intelligence of the audience.
We consume enough content across media- tv, films , webshows to recognize that the problem is not about showing characters that are psychotic, criminal etc. The problem is the messaging. The problem is the behavior of the "positive" character, Male lead. You are building him up to be a righteous IPS officer, yet actually showing him as a spineless, pathetic man. He is not "Grey" shaded as the makers claim but rather he is a stupid and insensitive jerk on the show. Whats worst is that he never gets called out for it. Rather he is projected as some sort of "mahaan" personality by makers.
The audience is agitated because we have seen prior precedent of GHKPPM brushing away crimes casually. There have barely any repercussions shown for crimes committed by various characters. So our displeasure or complaint is not based on a "singular episode"! It is IBF format that requires us to mention a specific date/time and episode in a complaint. However our complaint is based on totality of everything that has happened in the close to 600 episodes we have seen. We know the arc of every character and we know just HOW MANY TIMES things have been casually ignored on this show either with a rushed apology, completely skipping over the topic or worse- making the victim apologize to the perpetator of wrongs and the person who is wrong is celebrated.
Here are just a FEW of the many examples!
1. Bhavani barely apologized for crimes that should have landed her in jail when she separated a baby from her parents and gave up the child without knowledge of the parents. Just because one parent located the child doesn't minimize the crime committed!
2. Patralekha's crimes of fabricating evidence, forging documents during Devi-Pulkit track never even came to light.
3. And Virat was guilty of sheltering a naxalite and dereliction of duty but instead he was glorified. He never apologized to Sai for hiding things from her and pushing them to the brink of divorce. Instead Sai was made to beg him for forgiveness and he was given a clean chit for clear violation of his duty as a police officer because his "intentions were good". He broke laws. He violated direct orders from his superior and he NEVER got punished suitably and neither apologized to Sai. He only said sorry for saying he is breaking ties bit not for everything he put her through. The grief, the angst, the loneliness. She was shunned by everyone. And all was just easily brushed away in 2-3 episodes and a rushed confession/remarriage track. Yet we bore it all patiently because we were invested in Sairat coming together, waiting for their emotional intimacy, but we got nothing!
You take 100 episodes to build a problem so big and then pretend to solve it in 1-2 episodes. How is that fair or appropriate messaging?! So we as audience have had enough!!!
We are complaining about the treatment of a sensitive subject like surrogacy in the most crass and insensitive manner.
We are complaining about the fact that there is NO indication that the perpetrators of the crime will be punished.
Just stating the laws about how Pakhi is NOT a candidate is of NO use when she succeeds in her motives, goes unpunished for her clearly criminal acts and behavior. The lost of her crimes is LONG!
There is NOT a single character in the show except Sai that has raised their voice against the blatant flouting of laws - infact it has been enabled an IPS officer no less!
You cannot show any nonsense in the name of "drama quotient". Drama needs balance. This show only has regressive behavior and toxicity.
Instead of placating us with such an insincere reply, it would do you well to identify WHY audience is upset. We invest a lot of time into the show, we get attached to the story and the characters. We watch it to feel good. We keep waiting patiently hoping for better tracks. But the garbage you serve in the name of drama is only anxiety, stress, anger and hypertension inducing. It is NOT enjoyable or engaging to watch
We implore the makers of GHKPPM and the channel to give the audience written assurance that the future track will have justice served. Pakhi should be sent to jail and everyone who enabled her should repent and beg for forgiveness for a good period of time. They cannot employ the formula of a 1-2 episode of whitewash, crocodile tears and fake apology with no real ramifications.
If it takes 100 episodes to establish Pakhi as a criminal, then how can you not show her go to jail at the end of it all. How can everything be wrapped in 2 episodes with some forgiveness nonsense. That suggests that the makers/channel are endorsing wrongful behavior and minimizing what should be the consequences of such acts.
It is important that you give proper closure and messaging. You have a social responsibility in addition to this "larger than life" drama you are delivering.
Please understand that " drama" and "twists" dont always have to be illegal, immoral, cringe worthy or toxic. If you can't think of plots that are not regressive or toxic , just shut the damn show.
