Besides, if they choose to pass down the business to their kids, and they almost always do, that kid needs to have some solid educational background.

I suppose by the same logic industry kids who want to be actors/actresses don’t really need an education. But they should get one anyway for all the reasons you mentioned before. It broadens your mind, opens your world, and gives some eloquence. All of these can only help you become better performers.

agree but

I think you need it even in films, maybe which is why maybe kapoor studios collapsed, none of them had a vision or work ethic to run and maybe that is why kjo for all his faults revived dharma

same in south, rama naidu (rana's grand dad built a huge business), suresh ( rana's dad, very well educated) has kept it going and he is massively well informed, similar nagarjuna kept his dad's film studios and expanded it immensely, they have a broader view which definetly education and exposure contributes too

of course, some may do without education if very passionate

Surprising though that the attitude toward school lasted through the 90s for Ranbir - a very different world

raj kapoor was a phenomenon, he had passion for cinema, not coming in just because his father was there

same as a kamal hassan or sridevi who also never studied

but kamal is a self taught man, his hold on literature, cinema is amazing,

but as you said world has changed, also just because bill gates is a drop everybody cannot think they are bill gates and drop out

I’m convinced. Suddenly I think he’s the perfect match for Alia.

oh god

Graduation is the basic level of education, they should have at least completed it when they had the resources to do so.

Some of these folks simply accept their parental status as given and are aware that they have a "acting career" as a backup.

Acting school hi chale jaate 🤓

Good point.

KJo also brought in his college friend Aproova Mehta as CEO of Dharma. For all his on the surface superficiality and performance bitchiness I do think KJo is a very smart and shrewd businessman.

yes, which is why for all its hype kapoor family is in decline, except for a couple of actors who are one among many they have lost everything which was built and hence clout

rk studios is gutted, sold as real estate

what businesses do they own or do, nothing

ekta kapoor is one who actually built an empire in new field tv, she deserves credit among all star kids

With that percentage he got into HR College (through donation). HR is one of the most reputed colleges in Mumbai.

Also wasn't he sent to film school through recommendation?

I actually admire Ekta the businesswoman. She's done so well for herself.
