2nd July Dharamji special

Vishwaja - Pratyush :- Pratyush struggled with the first song, was ok in the second. Vishwaja is shaping up so well.👍 She is becoming my Nihal of Idol - growing into me steadily. I think she is at her best when not singing with Sayli.

Pranjal - yet again with an avoidable bengali prelude. Tum pukar lo is an iconic song which has its own pull. 💕 He did well overall, but I still feel he stretches some lines unnecessarily, like the first 2 of the antara. The band was awesome - 👌👌, these kids are blessed to sing live with Girish sir’s band.

Rituraj :- Na jaa , Aaj Mausam, Tera peecha na - 3 different songs - getting the feel bang on is incredible! Na jaa was exceptional, I wished he had continued with it instead of the 3rd song.

Sayisha - flawless as expected. HR’s comments sum up everything about her so far 👍

Salman -Soyab :- decent; but going by soyab’s level, it could’ve been better, But may be I didn’t enjoy it so much since this number is done to death & I am not so gung ho about it either.

Mani - someone had mentioned in the promos thread about the scale - I felt the same.It couldve been a tad lower. He was good overall esp in the lower notes.

Faiz-aru:- we are seeing more & more of the old Faiz now. His voice suits Rafisaab’s songs well. Aru of course nailed it. Hence all the more commendable that Faiz stood out. 👍. He also did well in the tribute segment.

Chetanya - Danish. Didn’t enjoy at all. Somehow I can’t connect to Chetanya’s tonal qlty ; may be a few years down the lane he will sound better for me.

Aru cleverly side-stepping adi’s Q on PD ( well assuming the editor didn’t sleep off 😀 )

‘Thank-god-for-this ‘ moment:- was waiting for it & got it , a break to wind up my kitchen 😁-HR ka Apne toh apne … 🤣

Byju’s Out-of-syllabus moment :- Pranjal’s expression when Dharamji started his shayari. Lol..🤣

I tell you, your reviews are the highlights of the weekends. Far more interesting than the main episodes themselves!

And for Mani's mom - definitely a set somewhere around 😄. Or maybe Star Trek type teleportation 😄

I find it amazing how we all see and hear the same episodes and yet have nearly diametrically opposite views.

Overall I liked todays episode. Less drama. Dharamendra is still one of the handsomest on Bollywood screen. I felt he has aged a bit more than when he came last year on II12. His speech at times felt slurred unless he had 🥃 before he got there! :)

Faiz was better today than his previous performances.

Loved Sayisha’s performance. I hope she stays around for the finale.

Not much to say about Pratyush. Wonder how that performance got the HR singing award or whatever he calls it! 😂. I thought he was overacting and his gestures weren’t appropriate at times. Vishwaja was definitely better one in that duo.

Mani was good but somehow I really like Soyab over Mani 🤷🏻‍♀️. I didn’t understand how they can show his mom making paratha in Punjab. It was so staged! She has been present in the studio for the last few episodes.

I felt Soyab was better than Salman in the duet.

Pranjal was very good. I really liked his performance today. Far better than the last couple times. The song suited him. My family actually thought his first name was Prabhu and his last name was Pranjal 😂. I had to google and show them that his first name is Pranjal 😂

Why does Chaitanya almost always sing in a duet? Did he perform a solo so far in SS2. Maybe once - I can’t remember. Danish has not been upto par lately. This was an okay performance.
Rituraj was good, effortless. But somehow his singing still doesn’t touch me. I mean I don’t look forward to his performance. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Interesting that only 7 kids are on the voting block today and not everyone that performed today is getting voted on.. They didn’t announce voting here in US unless I missed it. Either way I can’t vote! 😢

The other 6 probably will get voting tomorrow. In that case, they should have split the kids from same captain over the 2 days. Meaning if Rohan and Faiz could have been on 2 different days then Aru’s fans could vote for both or Pawans contestants could be split on 2 days instead of having them all on same day then they could have garnered more votes from PD’s fans. Chaitanya and Rituraj have advantage as they are the only ones from their captains team for voting today and so they willGet Danish and Salman fans votes.

If it was me, I would purely vote based on the kids I like but I know there are a lot of die hard fans of the captains that will vote for their idol’s contestants blindly.

They started off with 8 boys and 7 girls. Now they have 8 boys and 5 girls. Next elimination should be 2 boys, I would think. If it’s 2 boys then it should be Pratyush and Chaitanya and I hope the axe does not fall on Soyab. I feel Rohan will be secure through next elimination.

Doubt they will eliminate anyone tomorrow . Eliminations probably will be next week based on voting this week.

It is! I am kinda baffled everyone thought Rituraj was so good. He seemed restrained in his singing, almost closed-off diction. But I know jacksht about music or those songs, so there’s that 🤣

My reviews are purely based off my own enjoyment factor. It is quite a learning experience for me how you all talk about the intricacies of music 😊

I think it’s smart of them actually. They are trying to see which of the contestant is the popular one among voters. Like Aru’s fans were forced to choose between the other kids yesterday, same with PD fans for today 😀 So they’d have a pretty accurate picture for now. Later it’d be left to see how they fare when tipped against each other.

My prediction is that Faiz is definitely going to be top voted next week, followed by Mani. But if Sayisha wasn’t put up with Pranjal and Soyeb, it’d have been a different list. I’m guessing Soyeb and Aruna might be the ones eliminated next week.

Pratyush&Vishwaja - As everyone said Vishwaja was better. Voice of Pratyush is very different, for some songs it goes well but most of the times it doesn't.

Rituraj was good as usual. Definitely a finalist.

I liked Ab Ke Sajan Sawan Me more than the second song. But considering she is just 7, she is just brilliant.

Finally after a long time I enjoyed Pranjal's performance.

I am liking Shoyab this season, he has improved a lot.

Faiz performed well. I am looking forward to his Hume Tumse Pyar Kitna. I hope they don't edit it.

Chetanya sings well but don't know why I can't connect with his singing most of the times, same with Aruna.

Agree with everything. Esp about Chetanya & Aruna. In fact I have liked Pratyush in some episodes, but never connected with Chetanya I can also add Aryananda to the list. All kids sing well, I am just talking about my personal connect.

You are so right. And it is so interesting to read diverse viewpoints too.

That being said, I have noticed that mostly our views coincide, we also observe similar aspects. 👍.
