re: shehroze post/question
so here is my second thought --
2. caretaker mode. as someone who had been a caretaker for some family members, I can tell you that it can take over your life at that point. there is so much running around and so much organizing. there isn't much time for personal life and even if there is, there is no energy or appetite. what you really want is to be left alone so that you can either sleep or just unwind by surfing on the comp or something like that. there were times where I didn't even have energy to talk on the phone. I was that exhausted.
here, shehroze went from caretaker high alert and didn't come down even after naima stabilized. now, those who see naima as always manipulative would say that she used the situation to tie shehroze to herself. I feel that it was probably a combination of both of their dynamics. shehroze was petrified of being an emotional orphan. he didn't feel connected to wahab. he does not seem to have any other relatives who are popping in or close to. he does not even seem to have any friends he can rely on. so who is there for him -- naima. hence, his severe attachment. even after she was fine enough, he was paranoid that she will get sick again and he will lose her.
naima on the other hand lacked willpower. there are two types of patients -- those who push themselves to get better and those who get used to being sick that it becomes normal. naima is in the latter. she didn't see the need to become indepedent or try and do things on her own even emotionally. instead, she continued to lean heavily on shehroze and drained him out.
it took zunaisha to zap naima and make her realize that shehroze had gotten unhealthy because of being a caretaker...
