That was episode 65 IIRC. The guy Aditya rejected her friend cause of a dark skin complexion. that was the first time it was mentioned that she had commitment phobia and it was brought up a couple of times after that too. Which is why I find it bothersome that they completely forgot it existed and I m left scrambling to put the prices together.

I saw this in an YouTube comment and then realised it; HM shot KS to make it look like HM escaped from KS's custody , KS tried to catch her and she shot KS and left....she did this so that KS won't be at the risk of losing her job.....if this was any other show this would've been my first theory....this show has dumbed me down so much that I couldn't even find the answer even when it was staring me right in the face....this is the simplest explaination out there... Although the makers would try and give a complex explanation to further complicate things.....wish HM explained this to KS before firing at her....
but how has this even helped KS, I mean she will have to face even more serious consequences, I mean Misri Pandey is coming and she will harass her mentally and the biggest question is

hmm.. let me break it down.
HM and KS are popular and reputed faces of Lucknow. Both have an image and at the same time, the camaraderie between the two is well known as well. So now that Haseena is on the most wanted list because she has escaped, the first person to fall under the radar for investigations is the MPT because of their bonding and especially KS because of HM-KS friendship. Now obviously, when Haseena shot KS, she had no idea of the future and of Misri coming into the picture. All she had in her mind was KS's safety. When I say safety, I mean from the allegations and investigations. And like you pointed out obviously, KS wouldn't tell anyone what had conspired between her and HM to anyone, BUT let's not forget that there is always a polygraph test for such official work. The entire truth will flow out of her whether she likes it or not. And what will be the result of it? Not only does she lose her job and her reputation in society, but she also gets a criminal record for being an accomplice to the wanted person and for betraying her uniform in this case. That means she gets imprisoned. So while HM had no idea about Misri's entry or the future, she ensured that KS has a job and her life and respect are intact in society. KS will suffer in Misri's presence, no doubt about it, but we also know that there is a limit till which KS can be calm and tolerant and once that limit is crossed she doesn't care who is in front of her, HM or anyone else, hence she is called bhaukaal devi. KS can manage Misri but what would she do if she gets caught in this mess? It won't be just her who would be affected. PJ also will get affected who may get accused too. Also, in reference to yesterday's epi where PJ mentions how much their one month's salary means, to service people like them because they don't earn a lot. So if KS gets investigated, terminated and then imprisoned, what happens next? Within moments, KS's entire world comes down crumbling not forgetting that she currently thinks that she has already lost her most precious friend through betrayal. HM didn't have a full proof plan, I agree, but no one would in such a hasty situation. We tend to get carried away when we have a loved one to protect at any cost. HM is already accused of a serious crime so any more allegations against her wouldn't matter to her as long as her loved ones are safe.
Normally I criticise Haseena a lot, for a lot of things to be honest. but I can not even for a second doubt her love, intentions and actions for her team.
Hope that helps in understanding HM's pov as to why she did what she did.
