Imlie being rude to strangers

Imlie was rude to nurse in Aryan's room, then to the doctor who was managing blood bank and then in traffic jam as well.

But this isn't the first instance, last time she abused a random autowala, snatched his auto to reach Tripathi house after she sensed Aparna's distress over the phone on her CEO day.

In both situations she was distressed about her family members being in trouble. And while I was disappointed in her on CEO day, it was easier for me to let it slide this time around. I can think a few reasons for my different reaction as a viewer:

1) acceptance that this is her character trait, being raised by Satyakaam

2) this time she did it for Aryan (and less for my love for aryan, more for the fact that he's been there for her, as an unconditional support always)

Thoughts and opinions please.

..

U r right she is mostlyy rude only.. That can also be defence mechanism n also little personality type from village where she grown in company of SK. She don't have bad intention but she is rude in panic situation if anyone come in way n when she meet someone for first time but in wrong way (eg AKkadbagga himself)... Also add the scene where Aryan as arguing with police during toofan n she just ran car into police check post same way. But in Aryan ka rang it will be 200% more than this now 😆

Thanks for the tag.

I do have a different opinion on the slapping part but I totally agree with all the points on Imlie’s misbehavior with random strangers. I have always called out that her Imlipanti is not always funny and not always heroic to be applauded.

Her behavior with hospital staff was unacceptable, her entering the lab was foolish, her behavior in traffic was disgusting. She has been shown to forget everything when it comes to her APNE but like you pointed as long as it doesn’t bother anyone else, it’s acceptable, otherwise not.

I still feel N shouldn’t have slapped Imlie. Yes, Imlie should have informed her before leaving. My concern is showing random slaps when issues can simply be discussed. If she was mad at Imlie, give her a cold shoulder or confront her. This slapping thing between MIL and DIL is disgusting. I don’t know but I haven’t seen anyone close to slapping DIL for misunderstandings without even trying to talk to them. Also, my concern is slapping is a NO. You got a problem, discuss like adults with your DIL and action like adults.

ITV is watched by masses and it sends a wrong message when MIL slaps DIL and DIL being the mahaan doesn’t bother to clarify herself and accepts it with teary eyes. I am against anyone thinking themselves being superior of the other merely because of age difference. I am against anyone who thinks domestic violence can be a solution to differences between people. I am against all MIL who think DIL seduce or do magic on their sons when their own son refuses to take their side, I am against any DIL who is disrespectful to their in laws merely coz they aren’t her own parents. The respect should be mutual and communication is the key. N crossed all limits when she called out her past marriage problems and how she uses men to grow in life. She cannot be redeemed according to me. Having said that, I do know a lot of people who may forget such actions and start fresh, probably what Imlie and N will be doing in future but being the person I am, it’s difficult for me to call it out as casual affair and move on.

PS: I am against slapping kids too as I believe it does more harm than good( I practically follow it so not preaching for the sake of it)so you can understand slapping adults is a whole lot big deal according to me 😀

Throwing water on beauty pageant contestants. Though they made these girls thank her for it it just looked so random to me. Well, naru slapping her is one of the lowest points of imlie 2.0 show. But imlie is rather rude n uncouth. Maybe because she is like that n we have to accept it but i wish she had more finesse n softness in her speech n manners. But she has had a rough childhood n her speech n such character traits are unique to her so we have to adjust i guess

Hola Pooja! Was surprised to see myself tagged 😆 Anyway, coming back to the topic..good one. Haven't read any of the previous opinions in this thread..so my view might be a repeat.

Imlie didn't have a sheltered life so far, that we all can agree on. Especially coming from a small village, with superstitions galore and tongues wagging, it wasn't a easy feat for her. People who are at the receiving end ..they either grow become more meek and submissive or their patience snaps and they start giving back. In the latter, they become quite rough and gruff themselves and become a bit of a bully. That's what happened to Imlie too. The prob is that their characteristics can be inconsistent. You will find the same insecurities and vulnerabilities in them..and yet you see a confident sometimes bordering on overconfidence / arrogance / rudeness. That's what comes across as her impulsiveness too. I has mentioned this some time back too..Her impulsiveness comes from her insecurities. Linger on decision making and her doubts comes to the forefront..

Now, both the incidents you highlighted...Imlie is in the wrong. The auto incident was totally unwarranted for..she deserves all the brickbats for it and more. You don't rush out of the office..you try to get transport..and you don't bully a poor worker who didn't have anything to do with your woes. Plus was the reason strong enough? No

The hospital incident. Yes or no. Still a big no. And ot shouldn't be given a free pass too. The hospital staff are not punching bags. But is it understandable? Yes. We can relate to her feelings. In the place of Aryan, if it was some other loved one..we still wouldn't raise an issue with her rudeness. But only in genuine case..But is it wrong? It is. Also, we as the audience have been fed this manhandling of hospital staff right from the start.. not just Imlie..look at all the Indian movies and shows..majority have this rude behavior..and it has been normalized. For us, parent- child and wife- husband / lovers have been placed on a pedestal..so uske naam pe someone does anything, so saath Koon maaf..But, it's wrong!

Imlie has been like that since the beginning. They always give her some over the top senseless scenes. And apparently public used to like it then because 1)she was a baby that time & 2)because Aditya was in actual a nalla insaan whose life entirely depended on Imlie’s actions.

However now it feels very unacceptable considering Aryan brought some sense to the show. And now she’s 20, not a Pangdandiya ki teenager beti. The least makers can do is show her mature up because after a certain point all her tactics get annoying. It’s worse when Aryan gets sidelined in all this.
I’ve read a lot of stuff which say Imlie is made to look mahaan at the expense of other characters and I do agree. I feel makers need to understand if they can bring such a huge change in the show with Aryan then they should change Imlie too. Imlie makes blunders and it is never called out, brushed off as greatness.

Imlie cannot remain a child for the entirety of the show. Apart from that her character writing as of now is very shoddy. One day she does something next day she takes a 360° turn. She can twist a doctor’s hand but cannot standup for herself at her own house? So cringe.

Remember when she met Jyo in the middle of the road she was behaving this way only. I know she is a villain but even if a random person saves her from something and she is in her own world she would behave this way only😆

Ok going through your posts.... Man I am not from Med line but think if some doc watching this show they will drive in fear that some real o- Imlie will come to their hospital and ruin the blood bank🤣

Imlie is the lead so back gayi Else 🐷

Both Hospital and the owner of the car whose car was damaged would have made her end in the jail.😆

I had started loosing interest in Imlie's character sketch the moment CVs played with the way she reacted to Meethi when she forced Imlie to marry Aryan. They could have shown Imlie recollecting all those moments Aryan stood for her, yet she still not convinced with the marriage option; but agreed to marry Aryan for Meethi's sake. From then on, I have felt Imlie's character has become so loud that you fail to connect to her. After Arylie's marriage, the only time I felt bad for her is the last week scenes and that too only because of Sumbul's acting. But with today's episode, I have lost hope of Imlie showing any progress in realising that she too can behave like a normal person and cry off her pain silently, especially after the way Narmada confronted her and asked her to leave her job. And next day she is falling at Narmada's feet. 😡

Now, coming to your post on her behaviour with strangers, I really want to know what were the thought process of the CVs when the wrote these two scenes - First one the way she rudely threw away the auto-rickshaw driver on her CEO day and next, the way she kept banging the car many times in the recent episode, especially why CVs selected an old man to be it's driver. They could have shown the driver being a young guy who was a bit arrogant in that scene. Instead choosing an old man made that behaviour of Imlie look to be highly insensitive. Rest all scenes, I can accept it as fiction and give an excuse of creative liberty. But the above two scenes was like a hint of Imlie's dual personality - one who is highly caring of strangers (example Uday's parents) and the other who is extremely rude & insensitive to strangers. And it's being shown deliberately by the CVs as her personality disorder which sometimes leave an urge in me to know why they are doing so. But then, I realise that there is no use to waste my time & energy on something which CVs are least bothered about - Imlie's character sketch. 🤦🏻‍♀️
