Why is manjari looked down upon by harsh?

Manjari is not like anupama .. not demeaning Rajan shahi's other show's anupama as this female had a solid character growth..i am referring to the anupama in initial episodes who was completely a doormat and who used to tolerate other women hanging out with her own husband and constant taunts by her husband, son and daughter ...anupama couldn't even talk in English( not disregarding her for that) but manjari seems educated..

Manjari has given upbringing to a successful surgeon. She taught him a lot of values about life and respecting women . Harsh's disregard for manjari doesn't make any sense.. manjari must be respected a lot in society for raising abhimanyu and such mom takes pride in their son's accomplishment.. she is mother of a surgeon and she has a lot of contribution in him becoming a surgeon .. besides she has taken care of other birla kids too with so much love.. what's harsh thinking ? If he had a doctor wife who would have managed the house? I think that's the reason birla ki dadi selected manjari so that someone could take care of the house or it must be evil Mahima's plan like she is doing now...that we need someone to take care of the house.. moreover disregarding manjari just because she isn't a doctor is so stupid.. manjari am sure belongs to a time where women were given a lot of education .. it's a different matter her sister became a doctor but in such times it was common for women to just be homemakers.. she is such a caring soul and has beautiful voice..

She is not like anupama who was constantly looked down.. manjari does have say in family matters esepcially Abhimanyu's all matters...his world revolves around his maa. We've seen time n again manjari guiding her ( even if they were wrong decisions ) regarding his love and marriage.. she does have knowledge of how things work...even today she took stand for akshara..

Manjari represents a housewife from upper class of society. . I don't think so just not being a doctor is a strong reason to disregard to this extent to become completely ungrateful..other birlas including mahima still acknowledge it...but harsh doesn't show one bit of gratefulness towards manjari...There are so many women in rich societies who are home makers, just there is difference in their way of dressing, talking but they are so respected because of the role and command they have in house..being a homemaker is not something shameful like these birlas treat manjari ..she's not like anupama who couldn't talk to rakhi dave when her son's match was happening with kinjal...

I think harsh is a downright mean soul... I am sure his doctor wife would be disrespected too.. he wanted a smart arrogant wife who would do PR PR along with him but manjari is simple and not selfish.

Also i don't understand manjari's insecurities now- it doesn't make any sense, her giving into demands of husband ...nobody is so blind to see that their husband is totally a jerk .. it would make sense when manjari was financially dependent on harsh to be scared of him but after abhimanyu became a surgeon , she should have become much more confident as that is very much realistic. When a son becomes accomplished , the mother gets instant confidence to give back to her husband and not at all tolerate their shitty attitude.. manjari was getting hit by harsh in one episode and she was ready to take that blow...that's bit unrealistic.. i know it's because of conditioning. ..but i feel Abhimanyu has constantly supported manjari and if u have tht one person who constantly supports u then u wouldn't mind standing against abusers.. a mother does gain a lot of confidence from her son's love..

Today manjari can easily ask abhimanyu to seperate from his dad...i know she loves harsh and i know it's very much realistic she wouldnt want to do that but i want her to give back to harsh that if u keep doing this shit, am ready to leave the house with my son ..

Manjari has been put down without any reason for selflessly giving her life all these years in this house.. if situation was reverse and all were doctors birla house would be even more hell 🤢

I feel manjari really deserves the respect. Mahima is insecure because manjari is good in the eyes of kids where she is not...

You didn't understand the point of my post

I NEVER said that..

I said that women should be respected irrespective of their career choice ..doctor or non doctor.

Here I am talking in case of birla family dynamics as if everyone was working, kids wouldn't get equal time ...

Now times have changed ...u can leave ur kids with grandparents or u can raise ur kids on ur own along with ur professional responsibilities and responsibility of kids are divided between husband and wife.. a doctor or a non doctor both would be equally successful and loving in raising kids..my point isn't that

I am saying back in manjari's time.. as it's constantly implied manjari took care of them and harsh, mahima and Anand really didn't look after them at all and all responsibility was on manjari's shoulder, so she deserves credit for that.. as all other 3 were negligent and hence not liked by their children..

If harsh had a doctor wife he would have disrespected her too .. such men just don't know how to respect women irrespective of whatevr they do ...it's not about profession, it's about looking down on women...

I think there are reasons such women don't speak up. They are really scared and they are also conditioned by society that don't speak up against ur husband , "marriage mai yeh sab chalta hai" , pari parmeshwar hai blah blah so i kind of get why manjari couldn't take stand at that time

Manjari was financially dependent on harsh and harsh used to hit her.. if she would have speaken at that, time situation would get heated for once but i am sure harsh would have not have this level of audicity ..it's a pity mahima didnt take stand for manjari at that time..in such situations it's best to inform your parents or brother / sister that domestic violence is happening with you..

What's not tolerable is how manjari is not standing up against harsh now...i mean come on she is not that dumb.. she is a smart women who gave upbringing to smart surgeon son who adores her and she has his full support. She is not even financially dependent on harsh...that should bring confidence in her( not saying women should be confident only when their son become capable, abuse should never be tolerated at any costs) ... I mean to say earlier it was understand due to manjari's conditioning to not speak up against harsh but not she really needs to speak up. ..she shouldn't allow you are bad biwi taunts and tell him if u have so much issues let's get divorced.. if harsh is happy with that decision she should go forward...i know that would break the family, hence manjari doesn't want to do that and it's understandable but she should atleast threaten him.. as harsh is scared of losing his son.. and domestic violence shouldn't be tolerated at any costs

And let's not even talk about akshara.. there is very much difference in the time manjari comes from and akshara's.. Akshara is today's girl and if she doesn't take stand for herself in sasural then I wouldn't sympathize with her like I do with manjari.. plus akshara gets support from abhimanyu... So if she puts up with harsh and senior birlas insult and taunts am done with her...she really doesn't need to do and she is not that bechari .. she has all kind of support and she is well educated to stand for herself.. she has her music therapy job too.. it's not like she is sitting idle and not doing anything..

Akshara and aarohi situation was totally different. Like you said in that situation being mahaan is the problem.. more than Aarohi's immaturity for treating her sister like that, i would blame akshara for not standing against a bully...

Let's just forget the real world bec it's much more complicated there..we can't deny that a good support system back home is helpful specially when it comes to a child's upbringing..

Virtue is a virtue ..yes one may say that manjari and akshu(with aru) are the enablers but these women give a lot of importance to their relations hence they are forever hopeful that everything will be fixed one day . We may say they must quit ..get out of this toxic environment . Let's face it , 90% of the times they are not able to due to several said and unsaid reasons. Emotional, financial, kids , respect , society, no backing ,complications arising from divorce , uncertain future after divorce , their own ability to tolerate so on and so forth.

In her little world , manjari tolerates abuse , but feels compensated by abhimanyu, her home , her status as a mom , taking care of her family ..its debatable but that's her choice.

Yes agreed. 100%. So many families have dynamics like this and probably worse. I hope show is able to give a good message against domestic violence..they pick such tracks but never give it closure properly.

The majority of the Birla men do not know how to respect women. I think that while times are changing, in so many Indian households still, men are brought up being taught and conditioned to think that they are superior. In my opinion, there is no harder and more honorable job than being a homemaker. Without homemakers, the entire house crumbles. The Birlas got a small taste of that when Manjari went missing for just a single day. Think about what would happen to them if she wasn't there at all.

As for Manjari tolerating all of this, she is a victim of abuse, and I think it's extremely important to understand that. She has been emotionally destroyed by Harsh throughout their marriage. Abhi is the only one who stands up for her now, but think about all those years when Abhi was just a child. Who was defending her then? Absolutely no one. She was likely being bashed left and right with absolutely 0 support. That does more damage to a person and their self confidence more than we could ever imagine. Add on top of that the fact that Manjari is someone who deeply values her relationships and showers everyone around her with love, even when they don't deserve it.

Hope makers handle this track well

Hope harsh isn't whitewashed.. Aditya in season 2 was similar to keerti ( obviously harsh is not that vile) but keerti divorced Aditya and moved on....Aditya was not spared by kartik, naksh and family

Hope they don't whitewash harsh completely by showing goody goody.. realisation should come from within for taking her for granted.

I feel Harsh is a man who doesn't respect anyone. Though he is the younger brother but it looks like he is the 'head of the family' and not Anand. I remember when season 3 started Harsh used to show his superiority in front of Anand and Mahima a lot. He also used to mock Mahima for not getting valued by her husband. He needs Abhimanyu to run his hospital. Abhimanyu is one of the top surgeons of the hospital but not once did he respect Abhimanyu even as a doctor. This man actually has no respect for anyone in his family, not just Manjari. He takes everyone for granted and uses his brother, bhabhi, son for his own selfish professional gains. His behavior with Manjari is worst because he is not getting any professional gains from her.
