Ofcourse he felt bad as a friend but i don't think that's why he didn't argue with imlie.

When Jyoti said bye, he casually told her goodbye and there was no other expression on his face or in his Body language.

Jyoti is here with a full proof plan. She already knows Aru and yes she observed them as a couple closely by stalking them. She knows about imlie's past as well and playing her cards perfectly to get into imlie's good books by saying she was praying for Aru's happiness and her own ugly married life which is somewhere similar to hers.
