Fiza and Mission Kashmir were pretty average at BO. A bigger star is really debatable. The only craze I have seen for HR I was when  KNPH was released. After that movie, generally speaking no one talked or cared much about him.. stardom is debatable, he would never touch the stardom or fandom SRK or even Salman had.  

If you mean year 2000 then it is Hritik Roshan, He had lit fire under every superstar's throne in 2000 but after that he did not have much of success.

SRK on that other hand was on a roll in 2000s
