Tejasswi Prakash Wayangankar was born on June 10th 1993 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia and brought up in Mumbai, Maharashtra. She has completed her graduation in B.Tech (Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering) from Mumbai University while simultaneously shooting for Swaragini (2015), superbly juggling between both her acting career and education.

She’s fondly nicknamed Teju, Teja, Teejay and Teja Bhai by her friends and fans. As a true Gemini, she’s funny, easy-going, vivacious, honest to a fault and an overall bundle of energy. Some may call her a fitness freak because she enjoys swimming, cycling and playing basketball, along with being a trained scuba diver. But at the same time she’s a big time foodie and a die-hard non-veg lover. And yes, she loves vlogging!!!

Tejasswi loves reading and is often seen with a book in hand whenever she travels. So much so that she can be found burying herself in books even on set during her breaks in-between shooting. She was seen promoting the habit of reading among children too.

She’s a personality bestowed with beauty and heaps of talent. She comes from a musical family and has been trained in classical singing, thanks to her father’s ceaseless guidance and encouragement. She enjoys playing harmonium and sitar. On top of all that, Tejasswi is a trained Bharatnatyam dancer as well!

Regarding Appreciation Threads: Appreciation threads are to be used to praise and appreciate particular favorite characters. All discussions related to actor's performance, looks, style and personality can be confined to ATs. Please don't use the AT's as a forum to bash/mock/discuss other contestants/members, discuss what is happening on the forum or elsewhere on IF or other social networking sites, basically keep it related to what the AT is about.

◼◻◼

No Random couple/Group/Member/Animal ATs are allowed in the name of fun as such ATs are mostly filled with only spamming. Only character/actor AT and relevant Jodi AT will be allowed. Jodi ATs & Individual ATs must talk about the respective person and his/her interaction with the others one in the context of show post/discussions. ATs are subject to closures for violations of the AT rules.

 ◼◻◼

Chatting: Members seem to be more into chatting so please reduce the personal chatting because we do have a chat club for that purpose so keep that in mind. However, we do allow minimum chatting in ATs, provided it is related to this AT alone. Additionally Do not spam with just emotions/numbers to increase post count/pages. We are allowing chatting to occur in the AT's this does not mean that members should just go on for pages and pages with chatting, the premise of the thread is for the appreciation of a contestant. Non-essential chatting or spam comments in the hopes to increase pages or just for general chatting in no relation to the show can get deleted, if this occurs consistently in the AT, the AT or individual members can obtain a warning.

◼◻◼

ATs are open for everyone, however, do not invade the AT with the purpose to rile up the fans or instigate them. Everyone has their right to voice out their opinions and should NOT be judged/generalized based on their likes/dislikes. If any of your fellow members/friends fails to follow the rules, kindly ask them to edit out or tell them its wrong rather than joining them and aggravate the issues further and equally responsible for carrying forward an unfavorable situation. Hence be responsible and take responsibility because that way you may prevent action taken against your AT.

◼◻◼

ATs/discussions threads can NOT be used to target other members and NO pinpointing activity/mock or taking digs here toward other fan groups. Any derogatory references or name callings against actors /characters/members/Dev team members are strictly PROHIBITED here.

◼◻◼

Report: If you see anyone breaching the rules in any of the threads in the main forum, you will not come here and rant it out about it and snowball the issue further! Instead make use of the"REPORT" button and report the thread by stating the reason clearly. As soon as the Dev Team comes online they would take the necessary action.

◼◻◼

We can assure you guys that we only take action where it's legit reason. However, here is a little catch for the stalkers who just want to report in order to get the AT closed down – If you report any post/comments that has no legit reason, you will be responsible for action against you for stalking.

◼◻◼

Penalties: If the DT sees more than 3 people breaking the AT rules constantly twice in a row for a week, the effects of violations will kick start, which go as follows:

First Violation - Warning Note

Second Violation - Another Warning Note

Third Violation - Another Warning Note

Fourth Violation - AT closed for 24 hrs (1 Day)

Fifth Violation - AT closed for 72 hrs (3 Days)

Sixth Violation - AT closed for 1 week (7 Days)

Seventh Violation - Get rid of AT completely from the Naagin 6 Forum or Shifted to Celebrity Fan Club Forum.

◼◻◼

The rules are applicable for multiple violation and not single post as it will be dealt individually. Having said that, please do not assume that every report submitted by opposite fan group will be entertained. We will go through the reports and only if we find the report valid based on above rules, then we will speak to the Admins of the AT and action will be taken accordingly as stated above.

TELEVISION APPEARANCES

RASHMI

https://i.imgur.com/S2wNLnX.png

Tejasswi made her debut in 2012 at the young age of 19yrs with Life OK’s crime thriller 26-12 as the protagonist. She played the role of Rashmi Bhargava, a simple middle-class girl from Mumbai who works as a kindergarten teacher. Rashmi has lived a rather sheltered and pampered life as the youngest member of the family. But when tragedy strikes and she loses both her father and brother in the Mumbai terror attacks, her entire life takes a U-turn and she finds herself at the center of a terrorist mission.

DHARA

https://i.imgur.com/pt2d86R.png

In 2013, she essayed the role of Dhara in the second season of the popular show Sanskaar – Dharohar Apnon Ki on Colors, where she got the opportunity to work alongside established actors like Aruna Irani and Jay Soni. Dhara is an innocent but independent village belle who’s an ardent devotee of Lord Krishna. Along with being loyal to a fault, she’s a determined protector of her husband. Tejasswi got her first recognition with this show and got nominated for Best Debutante Female at Colors’ Golden Petal Awards, 2013.

RAGINI MAHESHWARI

https://i.imgur.com/K73G60E.png

In 2015, Tejasswi was roped in to play the iconic role of Ragini Maheshwari in one of the most popular shows of Colors at the time, Swaragini – Jodein Rishton Ke Sur. Her nuanced portrayal of Ragini Gadodia, later Maheshwari, helped her finally gain a name for herself in the television industry and she soon became a household name. Her transformation from an innocent and naive Ragini to an obsessed lover and a self-centered sister was commendable. She absolutely nailed in essaying the numerous shades of Ragini, from sweet and soft-spoken to devilish within a second. Her brilliant performance was soon recognized when she got nominated for Best Actress in a Negative Role at ITA Awards 2015, and later for Best Actress Female at Colors’ Golden Petal Awards 2016.

DIYA SINGH

https://i.imgur.com/0t8QK7z.png

Her next project was one of the more controversial shows in recent times, where she played the role of Diya Singh in Sony TV’s Pehredaar Piya Ki and Rishta Likhenge Hum Naya in 2017. Though the concept of the show received ample criticism at the time, Tejasswi’s portrayal of Diya, a loyal and fiery 18yrs old girl who has to take up the duty to become the protector/pehredaar of a young boy after the sad demise of his father, was lauded by many.

URUVI – THE WARRIOR PRINCESS

https://i.imgur.com/ssGzfTf.png

In 2018, she bagged the role of Uruvi for Star Plus’ mythological drama Karn Sangini, which was based on Kavita Kane’s novel ‘Karna’s Wife:The Outcast’s Queen’. She exceptionally depicts the journey of a pampered princess, who gradually forms a bond of mutual trust and respect with Karn. Despite being repeatedly dissuaded, Uruvi falls for Karn who has lived a life full of hardships. She pays the price for her love and is soon forced to leave her luxurious and comfortable lifestyle as well. Although the show had to go off-air soon, Tejasswi got the fortunate opportunity to explore a new dimension of her art-form through this mythological role and proved her mettle as an actress.

MISHTI KHANNA

https://i.imgur.com/EYQqOR4.jpg

In 2019, she joined the show Silsila Badalte Rishton Ka in its second season as the much loved character of Mishti Khanna. Mishti is a perfectionist who views love as a responsibility, gives the utmost value to commitment and is about to be engaged soon. But all of a sudden when Ruhaan, essayed by Kunal Jaisingh, enters her life she is forced to re-examine her thoughts and belief about the meaning of love. Tejasswi excelled in showing the nuances of Mishti’s character, nailing each and every emotion, whether it was Mishti’s doubts and uncertainties, or the denial of her feelings, or her desperately trying to push away her love.

Although the 1st season of the Colors’ show initially garnered some critic from TV audience, the 2nd season went on to become one of the most loved web-shows on Voot after the channel shifted their viewing platform. The show was a hit among young viewers who loved the nuanced and complex storytelling of Silsila, which provided a good take on new-age friendships, love and marriage. Even though Silsila was always going to be a finite story and had been planned for around 60 episodes only, the positive response from fans had them extend the season for up to 100 episodes.

Khatron Ke Khiladi Season 10

https://i.imgur.com/N5HL24T.jpg

“Bhai, Kadak Strong Hai Ye Ladki!”

These words of absolute wonder and unadulterated praise spoken by her fellow contestants perfectly encapsulate the amazing journey of Tejasswi in Khatron Ke Khiladi Season 10. She started out her journey on the show being merely the ‘funny girl’ of the season, the girl who made everyone laugh with her quirky sense of humor and her cluelessness about old Hindi movies. The girl that became synonymous with Badshah’s famous song, “Yeh Ladki Pagal Hai, Pagal Hai, Pagal Hai…” But soon it became clear to everyone that she was not just a comic relief but a whole package-deal of entertainment while simultaneously nailing each and every stunt to the T.

She was the only contestant (whether male or female) to achieve the feat of defeating all the male contestants in stunts. The absolute finesse and fearlessness with which she performed every stunt, especially excelling in water-stunts, earned her the love and respect of her fellow contestants, host Rohit Shetty and most of all the audience. Whether it was her never give-up attitude or her selfless nature, where Team Captain Tejasswi chose to nominate herself for the elimination stunt instead of her teammates, her personality made a special place in the hearts of people.

Tejasswi became the first ever KKK contestant to feature on the Ormax List – ‘Ormax Characters India Loves: Top 5 Most Popular Non-Fiction Personalities (July 2020)’ alongside established names like Kapil Sharma, Sunil Grover, Krushna Abhisek and Rohit Shetty himself. This was the testament to all the love, adoration and enormous support she had received during her time at KKK.

Unfortunately, however, she had to quit the show in Semi Finale due to an eye-injury sustained during a dangerous water-stunt. The audience was deeply saddened by her sudden exit on medical grounds and she was regarded as the undisputed winner of the season by many people. Tejasswi was a fighter and an inspiration on the show. This is why she became the only contestant whose Journey Video (JV) was shown on the eve of Grand Finale, despite not being the finalist. KKK10 will always remain special in the hearts of her fans because this was the show where audience became a fan of her real self instead of just her on-screen characters.

Bigg Boss Season 15

https://i.imgur.com/usoodk1.jpg

Tejasswi’s journey on Bigg Boss Season 15 was a roller-coaster of emotions. She began as a fun-loving girl who happily cooked for 13 housemates at once and was friends with every fellow contestant. As weeks went by, the audience were able to see multiple shades of her personality in the BB house. She silently performed her house-duties despite others constantly nit-picking on her work. She gained haters and her friends turned foe because of her blunt honesty and strong-headedness, but she always remained vocal about her thoughts. She had emotional breakdowns, she felt lonely, she had doubts, she made mistakes, she learned from them but she never gave up.

Tejasswi is an extremely competitive person at heart and she never shied away from any physically demanding tasks. She always gave her 100% and encouraged healthy competition, choosing to play a clean game without fail. The most commendable thing she did inside the BB house was standing by her principles from beginning to end and never compromising on her stand. Tejasswi strongly believed in lifting herself up but never pulling someone else down. This positive attitude of hers was displayed time and again during the BB journey when she categorically refused to attack others during tasks and instead chose to defend herself only.

Her time inside the house was filled with many controversies and she was responsible for creating arguably the most buzz for the show - be it positive or negative. Her varied equations with the housemates became another notable part of her BB journey – whether it was her rivalry with Shamita Shetty and Pratik Sehajpal; or her relationship with Karan Kundrra; or her friendship with Nishant Bhat, Vishal Kotian and Vidhi Pandya. They could love her or hate her, but they could never ignore her!

Tejasswi achieved the rare feat of topping the Ormax List – ‘Ormax Characters India Loves: Most Popular Bigg Boss Contestant’ for 11 weeks out of 17 weeks and won most of the YouTube Polls with a healthy majority in the last month, which is a major testament to the enormous neutral audience support she received. And later went on to win the show and the trophy!

PRATHA

aka

Sarvashreshtha Shesh Naagin

https://i.imgur.com/kj9E7PF.jpg

Tejasswi bagged the role of Pratha aka Sarvashreshtha Shesh Naagin, while she was still inside the BB house, for the sixth installment of Naagin - one of the most popular franchises of all time from Balaji Productions. Right after winning the trophy on a Sunday night, she reached Balaji sets on Monday for her look-test and began shooting for Naagin 6 the next day without even taking a day’s break.

She essays the role of Pratha – an innocent girl who is the sole breadwinner of her household, who has to shoulder the responsibility of her father’s medical bills and mounting house-rent, who finds herself jobless, helpless and struggling in the face of a pandemic… But later it turns out that the seemingly naive and feeble Pratha has actually been the Sarvashreshtha Shesh Naagin all this time. She’s the fierce savior out on a mission to save people from Asurs – the traitors/masterminds who are responsible for spreading this unnamed pandemic in the first place.

Even though the concept of this season has received some criticism due to the controversial and sensitive theme, Tejasswi’s sincere portrayal of her character has been lauded across the board. Whether it’s the sweet and soft-spoken Pratha or the fierce Sheshnaagin, she nails each and every emotion of her character and her eyes speak volumes.
