SYNOPSIS OF THE SHOW -

Kashibai is raised as a spoiled child. She faces challenges as an adult when her husband Peshwa works to expand the Maratha empire and she must prove her capabilities to become an administrator. It is story of Maratha Empire from Kashibai's perspective,wife of the great Bajirao Ballali.

  ^Kashibai aka Laadubai^

Kashibai was the daughter of Mahadji Krishna Joshi and Bhavanibai of Chas, belonging to a wealthy banker family. She was fondly called "Laadubai" and was born and raised in Chaaskaman village. 

Kashibai was married to Bajirao IKashibai and Bajirao had three sons together. Balaji Baji Rao (nicknamed "Nanasaheb"), was born in 1721 and was later appointed Peshwa by Shahu in 1740 after Bajirao's death. Their second son Ramchandra died young. Their third son Raghunath Rao (nicknamed "Raghoba") served as the Peshwa during 1773–1774 while their third son Janardhan Rao died young.

Since mostly male members of the Peshwa family were out on the battlefield, Kashibai controlled the day-to-day running of the empire, especially of Pune. And it was possible because of her social nature. She was also the Peshwin Bai.

Kashibai is also noted to have not played any role in the household war waged by the Peshwa family against Mastani,Baji Rao's second wife. Kashibai is said to have served him on his deathbed as a loyal and dutiful wife.After the deaths of Baji Rao and Mastani in 1740, Kashibai raised six-year-old Shamsher Bahadur as her own.

In the show the character is played by child actor Aarohi Patel.

Baji Rao was born into a Marathi Bhat family in Sinnar, near Nashik. His father, Balaji Vishwanath, was a Peshwa of Chhatrapati Shahu I and his mother was Radhabai Barve. Baji Rao had a younger brother, Chimaji Appa, and two younger sisters, Anubai and Bhiubai.

Baji Rao's first wife was Kashibai, Baji Rao always treated his wife Kashibai with love and respect. Their relationship was a happy one.They had three sons. Baji Rao took Mastani as his wife, the daughter of Rajput king Chhatrasal of Bundelkhand and his Muslim concubine.The relationship was a political one, arranged to please Chhatrasal. Mastani had a son, Krishna Rao, in 1734. Since his mother was Muslim, the Hindu priests refused to conduct upanayana ceremony and he became known as Shamsher Bahadur. After the deaths of Baji Rao and Mastani in 1740, Kashibai raised six-year-old Shamsher Bahadur as her own.

Bajirao Ballal was the 7th Peshwa of the Maratha Empire. Baji Rao is looked upon as the most celebrated personality after Shivaji in the history of the Maratha Empire. His achievements are establishing Maratha supremacy in South and political hegemony in North. He defeated Nizam-ul-Mulk and was responsible for the establishment of Maratha power in Malwa, Bundelkhand, Gujarat, as redeemer of Konkan from Siddis of Janjira and liberator of the western coast from the rule of the Portuguese.

In the show the character is played by actor Venkatesh Pande.

As leads both Venkatesh & Aarohi are slaying their role as Baji Rao & Kashibai respectively. The benevolent, naive, vibrant, pampered, graceful , strong opinionatd, stubborn & determined nature of Kashi is very well potrayed by Aarohi while the calm, courageous, fearlessn, intelligent, skilled warrior, high spirited, well adept in horsemanship yet childish as well as innocent shades of Bajirao are very well presented by Venkatesh. Besides, Aarohi’s exuberance as Kashibai will melt your heart in no time as she is a treat to watch on the screen. On the other hand, Venkatesh looks like a perfect fit for the role of Bajirao and seems to have worked hard to get into the skin of the character. 

The culmination of duo's performance is bliss to watch. It's soothing breeze of freshness infact with each & every episode they're becoming better version of themselves and giving splendid performances. Aarohi is 9 years old while Venkatesh is 19. Despite of their huge age difference they share a splendid rapport which is a major factor in their performances igniting good chemistry between the duo.
