She was already a popular model and got noticed through her Pepsi ad itself.

But surely she would have been less popular if not for Miss World title. Miss World title brought her more attention and filmmakers at her doorstep.

She would be doing movies in South like she did in the beginning of her career because she could not get movies in Bollywood until 1999 (she got one forgettable flop with Bobby Deol in 1997 but no one cared for her). It was the time when blue-eyed Karishma, great dancer Madhuri, and good actress Kajol were ruling Bollywood.

Of course Aishwarya says all movies in Bollywood were being made for her but she refused all of them because she was busy doing Hollywood projects from 1995-1997.

Aishwarya is the most beautiful thing ever created by God, a rare combination of beauty, grace, elegance, talent, dignity, humbleness.....still her 1994 Miss World title and ethereal, timeless, elegant beauty did not catch Bollywood directors' attention. Miss Dignified was so desperate to become a Bollywood actress that she did what she did with Subhash Ghai to get Taal and then lived in Salman Khan's farmhouse for 4 years as his girlfriend and got good movies using his connections. Later she said Salman destroyed her career. LOL. Did she have a career in Bollywood before she started dating Salman? How selfish to use someone to build the career and then accuse the same person for destroying it and slandering the person citing alleged abuse, harassment, cheating drama (and giving herself adjectives like dignified, humble, down to earth, good family values) to gain sympathies. Oh, Aishwarya, you dignified, fake, two-faced woman!

Her talent is 'falling' in love with men to advance her career and then ditching them to latch onto the next big thing. Akshay Khanna, Rajeev Mulchandani, Salman Khan, Vivek Oberoi, Abhishek Bachchan!

Aishwarya is self-made!

What did Ms World title do for her? It just showed the world that even after looking like that and being a successful model, someone beat her in a beauty competition. Its like constant reminder that someone won over her. Either ways she would have come into films since she was beautiful.

Yeah, many participants withdrew seeing her, but I'm glad Sushmita didn't.

She would still live an easy life of comfort because she’s beautiful.

With due respect, Vivek was just a newcomer and never successful enough that Ash had to 'use' him. Rather he could not believe his luck when he dated her and tried to use her fame, to advance own career. She was a bigger star than him. He broke engagement with his GF to date Ash.

Of all the men you mentioned, only Salman was most famous and bigger star. IDK how she used him when she only did one film with him, HDDCS and a special appearance in HTHS. Any woman would leave after abuse.

Unlike others Aishwarya did not keep working with Salman or visiting his family to advance her career. That would amount to 'using'. 

Akshaye Khanna is a flop guy now. Even his film with Ash flopped. No one knows Mulchandani guy either. Surely Ash did not win Miss World due to a man.

And how did she use Abhishek when he was and is nowhere near her stardom? Except Guru, there is no film with Abhishek and Ash which is a success. Rather a flop actor like Abhishek got Lux and Prestige ads with Ash and got to go to Cannes, Oprah show, with his more famous wife. Aishwarya has not even used Bachchan brand at all. She has not done any films with Amitabh or Jaya after marriage. The only film she did with Amitabh after marriage is Sarkar 2. Otherwise the entire family could have done multi starrers, ads, magazine covers together or more concerts like Unforgettable tour or appeared in every season of KBC together. She has not used Bachchan connection to enter politics either. It is Abhishek who has used her for limelight. Not the other way round.  

It is strange how Aishwarya is said to have got Taal by being with Ghai at his house but Madhuri, Meenakshi, Mahima, Sridevi, Katrina, Reena Roy are never said to have got Ghai films by 'going with him at his house'. Ghai never had full page magazine and newspaper spreads to launch Ash the way he got full page spreads in magazines, newspapers to promote Madhuri Dixit in late 80s. 

Even in Taal, Ash has done normal songs. Not anything like Choli ke peeche kya hai. 

She does not have many hits and is not a huge draw at ticket counters but she definitely did not stay in showbiz only due to men she dated or married. 

^ Exactly ... it's hilarious that people give credit to Vivek for Ash's success or Rani's success for Saathiya ... I mean 2002 is the only year when Vivek had hits. From 2003 he started to have flops and disappeared by 2005 or so.

Vivek was nowhere near Ash's stardom in 2002 or any other year. He got noticed for Company but even that film would not be a success if not for Ajay Devgan. He had successful Saathiya but after that I do not remember any clean hit starring Vivek. The only noticeable films he later somewhat managed was multi starrers like Masti or Kaal. Whereas Aishwarya kept peaking in international popularity and gave successes like Dhoom 2, Jodha Akbar, Guru.

IDK how can anyone say Ash used Vivek whereas it is Vivek who has no identity of his own and is still known as Ash's ex or the guy who held a press conference against Salman. 

With or without her Miss world pageant title, she would have still become the top BW actress of her time because she was exceptionally beautiful,  talented and hardworking, which would have never gone unnoticed or she would have excelled in her studies and become a great and beautiful doctor or engineer.

Probably really successful anyway.

She was studying to be engineer iirc.   Overachiever in every way
