After 8 years, CBI court holds first hearing, to hear arguments on Aug 21
It's been eight year since young Bollywood actress Jiah Khan passed away and her mother Rabia Khan has been fighting for justice for her daughter. In 2018, the sessions court had framed charges against Jiah's boyfriend Sooraj Pancholi for allegedly abetting the suicide of his girlfriend where the Sooraj had pleaded not guilty. After eight years, the first hearing took place before the special CBI court on August 10 after the case was transferred from sessions court to CBI court, where the prosecution and defence were directed to argue their applications once again. On the first hearing, the CBI and Sooraj Pancholi had argued before the earlier court on a plea filed by the central agency seeking further examination of some evidence. The court said that since it was required to decide on the plea, it will hear the arguments afresh by both parties on August 21.
Jiah's mother has been proven a liar in a court in England. She last came to India in 2016 and haven't returned since because she knows that she will be proved a liar again.
The case has been dragging for years because Jiah's mother does not come to India to attend the hearings. She sits in her living room in London and keeps on tweeting that I am not getting justice because all evidence has been destroyed. The she makes videos making claims that all evidence has been destroyed. She was the first person on the scene of her daughter's death, she removed Jiah's tracksuit and didn't give it to the police for investigation. She deleted data from Jiah's Blackberry and didn't let the police access Jiah's last text messages and calls.
Her daughter committed suicide. She should stop blaming Sooraj's 8-month relationship with Jiah for her own 24-years neglect of her daughter which was proved by a court in England.
Jiah was a beautiful girl, may she rest in peace.
