Day : 1

My love is beauty and grace

She's also an ace

Her eyes are shine

like mountains in sunshine

Her presence lightens the darkest night

She loves all things art

My love, thou art

A piece of art

Gods spent an eternity creating you

Gifted you all they could

And blessed this world

With an angel called you.

Day 2 : My First Gay Friend

It was the first week of graduation. I came from a small town into a sprawling big city, known for its culture and diversity.

I was shy yet confident and ready to explore and learn.

I met my classmates and made new friends. One of them was Sam.

"Hi, I'm Sam!" He said with a cheeky smile. "I don't have many friends here."

I looked at him, thinking, was it because he is fat? That's not a reason to not befriend someone. "Well the year has just begun, you'll make friends. Even I just got to know a few people."

"I'm gay." He said solemnly

"So?" I blurted, not seeing the problem.

"Most people don't befriend me because of that.

I frowned, "But there's nothing wrong in being gay."

He smiled warmly, "Thank you! Not many people accept me for who I am."

"Most people are stupid, don't bother."

"True. Sometimes they say shit and it hurts."

"I'm sorry, I've never been in such a situation but it sounds terrible. But don't worry, you got me and if anyone says anything to you, I'll beat them up."

He looked at me and chuckled. I was a skinny, small girl who talked about fighting someone much larger than her.

"I can punch people where it hurts the most, don't try me."

"Okay, okay. Friends?"

"You got my back." I shook hands with him

That's how I made my first gay friend, long before I knew I was one myself.

Day 3 : Artemis and her aros

She was orphaned as an infant and brought up by a drug-kingpin, Alex, who had a reputation for being the most ruthless killer.

Artemis, she was called, as he found her in the woods while escaping from the cops.

Artemis was a master sharp-shooter, who loved her bows and arrows. One day, she meets a young girl, crying on the streets.

"Why are you crying?" Artemis offered her a kerchief and sat beside her.

"My parents kicked me out of the house."

"What did you do?"

"Kissed a girl."

Artemis clenched her jaw, "Where do they live?"

The girl hesitated for a moment but then told her. Artemis took her to her house.

Later that night, Artemis sneaked out of her house and went to meet the girl's parents.

"So, where's your daughter?" Artemis asked the two terrified people.

"I don't know." The woman answered nonchalantly.

"Do you want her in your life?"

"No."

"Then why go through the pain of child-birth only to abandon them if they're not like you?"

"What are you gonna do about it?" The man asked.

"You haven't left much choice." She pulled out her gun and shot them point blank.

Artemis walked out of their house and continued to hunt other such homophobes in her area and built a safe space for kids like her.

Day 4 : girls like girls like boys do

You're a girl, act like one"

"Sit like a lady"

"Girls don't talk loud, don't laugh out loud"

"Be quiet"

"Silence"

"You're a girl, have some respect"

...

"I said I like girls."

My mother looked alarmed, shocked even, "There is no such thing."

"All my life I've been acting like a girl but I can't love one?"

"No."

"Well our Lesbian Jesus said girls like girls like boys do, nothing new...I'm real and I don't feel like boys..."

I shut the door of my closet and pull myself in, once again.

Day 5 : love pact

She opened the curtains and looked at the sunrise in the mountains.

"I can't believe I almost said no to this experience."

"Not gonna say told you so but told you-"

Her look silenced me. "But babe, consider this our first honeymoon."

"Honeymoon sweetheart? We're 16! Let's get married first." She gave the usual reality check.

"Alright! But it's not legal yet so I don't think it matters."

"You know we could just say we're married and that's that."

"Kiss me and I'll be yours for all my life."

"Whoaa! You ready for a commitment like that this soon?"

"I've known you for three years but it feels like we're meant to be."

"But what if, few years down the line you feel you did this in haste and only if you waited and found someone else." She voiced her fears.

"I don't think so. But we could do a 10 year pact. So we'd be free to explore and experiment with anyone we like and 10 years later see if we still want to be together."

"That sounds good. We'll still stay in touch, right?"

"Darling, we're friends, first and foremost. That's never gonna change, no matter what. Now come on and kiss me to seal this pact."

She pulled me close and locked my lips with hers.

Day 6-7

A letter to my younger self

Dear (12-16 y-o) me,

Don't worry about the people who are around you right now and don't see and understand you the way you want them to.

You are learning something new everyday and those people you think are your friends, no they aren't. They never knew you and they never even tried to. They didn't care about you the way you did. But I'm glad that you still care about everyone just as much and are more cautious and less stupid now.

All those feelings you've been having are valid. You don't know what it is now but you will.

No wonder you could never have real connect with your schoolmates, they were all straight, not understanding your queer ways.

You're queer and your here,

 to stay and strike fear.

Love,

The grown up you.

Day 8 : love pact part 2

7 years later

"Babe!" I said over phone. "How are you?"

"I'm good. But why are you calling in the middle of the night? Is everything okay?" She sounded worried.

"I can't sleep. I keep thinking about how good it would be if I get to sleep in your arms for the rest of my, I mean our life."

"Are... are you proposing me sweetheart?"

I could feel her blushing to herself. " "No, that I'll do when I meet you. I just want to know if you're ready for it."

"I think I am. Can't wait to come back and ne with you, once again." She couldn't hide her happiness.

"Take care my love, see you soon!"

"I'm booking my tickets. Toodle-oo!"
