Yeah, otherwise the lady playing the FL would be suffocated and the camera angles wouldn't work. It's all aesthetics. I've noticed in a lot of ITV shows that when the couple falls, the ML usually puts his hand under the FL's head or neck to cushion it.

I said the same thing too. Jokes apart, that is actually the correct way to lift things to prevent injuries and jerky movements, which is why the whole thing looks perfect in one take. So, all his gymming and squats are paying off.
