No vaccine in the world prevents exposure to a virus. Vaccines only boost your immune system to prevent you from falling sick due to the virus. That is why masking is important because vaccinated people can carry and transmit viruses.

All vaccines have efficacy rates. It reflects how effective the vaccine is in preventing sickness. Pfizer and Moderna have 95% efficacy. That means that if you get exposed to the COVID virus there is a 95% chance that your immune system will kick in and prevent infection. There is a 5% chance that you might still fall sick.

You know anything on ‘Novavax’  it has 95.6 % efficacy and even 86.5% against UK strain . Apparently still in phase 3 .

"Covishield" is actually the Oxford/AZ vaccine; its called covishield in India for reasons known only to the Serum Institute; regardless of that, it is the OXFORD/AZ vaccine, with all credit to the researchers at Oxford.

The studies on the Oxford vaccine are published in the Lancet. However, there are further studies based on vaccination in the UK including real world data from the SIREN study.

COVAXIN is only approved in India and phase 3 results have NOT been peer reviewed/published as far as I can tell.

India is only using the Oxford/AZ vaccine and the Bharat Bio vaccine.
