Officially they haven't amended any law.. just verbally. The farmers had been protesting for two months peacefully before the supposed "rioting", nobody even cared to listen to them. All of this happened in retaliation as the decided route for the tractor rally was suddenly blocked by the police. Not that I will ever support violence.. Sikhs have been taught from a young age to fight and defend themselves so what did the government expect? All of this is fine when it is fighting in the army but not when they do it for their own rights and to defend their elderly😳

Kerala has rejected the law as well and there have been protests down South too. It is just that Punjab-Haryana-UP have been leading the protests... which makes sense considering these states have the highest agricultural productivity rates.

Maybe if the farmers' groups agreed for talks then after careful discussions the laws could have been officially amended?  

And honestly however long they had been protesting, the kind of rioting that occured on the 26th is just not acceptable! And if all this is about farmers and farms, why were some of those so called "farmers" raising separatist/extremist slogans??

If certain groups have a problem with a law, and the government requests talks, the right thing to do is for the leaders of the said groups to go and speak to the government and put their points accross in a sensible way... not rioting in the street, raising extremist slogans, and attacking police.

It doesn't matter what religion someone is from, behaving like that is just not O.K., and people have to accept that it does have concequences. 

And seriously? You want to liken the disgraceful display on the 26th to fighting in the army?? Let me tell you that almost every contry in the world has an army, but what those so called "farmers" did on the 26th would be illegal in pretty much any of those countries... India isn't unique in recognising rioting and violently attacking police as crimes.

The small, peaceful protests in Kerala were nothing like the nonsense in the capital city, and even then, Kerala is just one more state... the vast majority of the country seems to have no problem with these laws... 

That and all the extremism in these protests is starting to reveal an ugly agenda that seems to have little to do with farmers...

Yes, it is indeed not acceptable for the police to go and physically attack its citizens just for protesting. And when they retaliate... oh yeah we have "injured" policemen because the protestors got violent.

These three laws are not negotiatable, anyone whose household income depends on farming stands by that. As I already said before, "the vast majority" that you are referring to are not primarily agricultural states. All the aforementioned have expressed their agitation, whether it is through protests or simply the state government. If the farmers themselves reject the laws, why is the government so hell bent on enforcing it? That my dear reveals an ugly agenda, not the Northern state citizens blocking the borders to Delhi and asking for their rights. 

Half the farmers protesting are former army men and a lot of their sons are in navy and/or air force. You are going to tell me that these people are extremists and separatists, while the ministers safely residing in their homes and social media warriors / bhakts are actual "nationalists" 👏

It is sad what India has turned into.. a country that was once known for being secular and where every person, regardless of religion and culture, was welcomed and they happily co-existed. Now we have Sikhs being labelled as Khalistani, farmers are traitors, Muslims are terrorists etc.
