Our celebs got bashed for talking about #BlackLivesMatter because they don't talk about our internal issues and now Rihanna is getting bashed for talking about our farmers protest. Can we stop telling people what to talk about and what not to talk about?
Farmers have been protesting ever since the bill got passed in September and there's no resolution in sight. If more and more people talk about it then it will keep up the pressure and a favorable outcome can be achieved. So far, all talks have failed and there's a serious need to mount pressure on both sides to resolve this ASAP.
Everyone wants Bollywood to speak up but once they do they are accused of doing movies promotion or PR stunt and even if everyone believes they are genuine, they will get targeted, trolled, bashed from all side including the one who asked them to speak about it in the first place. Then you wonder why they bow down, you wonder why Bollywood as an industry is made of cowards.
I remember when DP went to Delhi for promotion, people on the internet were bashing her saying she is in Delhi for promotion and she is not going at JNU. Today the same people are saying why did you go when you had a movie to promote hence you are doing PR. Whether she did it for PR or genuinely, truth is, you guys are never satisfied and they remain the one facing the consequences with no support.
