Chapter 3
Rishab splashed water on his face to wash away the tears, which dominate him. Snatching the towel for himself, he came out from the washroom and witnessed Prerna.
"You're right, revenge is not everything", she pressed her lips to stop herself from crying and leaned herself on his chest. The tears kissed his shirt and made it wet.
She sobbed, "I loved him a lot"
"Who knows better than me?", he caressed her back when she looked at him. But like a magician he hid his feelings for her from her.
"How did Kukkie...", before she completed herself he intervene in between, "Jane dijiye...aage kuch socha hai aapne", and he left her to face his back towards her. His arms were on his back.
She nodded negatively. But still he understood, "Then will you have to go with me"
"Mr. Bajaj...", she was unanswerable.
He turned back to face her, "I don't take a risk to leave you here, not away from the eyes of Anurag Basu. He can again hunt."
She nodded positively and smiled, "He has hunt once, and killed me. Never mind you saved or not"
This statement of her disappointed him to an extent. He licked his lips to not concentrate on it, "Please, come with me not for forever", he sarcastically said.
She nodded and stepped towards the door but stopped, "Where do you live?"
"You don't know that as well, hahah", he was even more sarcastic.
"I am sorry"
"That's fine.", and continued, "After the divorce, I left for London. But after Kukkie...waha kuch man sa nahi laga. She always used to say ma...so I came back but New Delhi, not Kolkata"
They finally took a flight for New Delhi and then took her to his small apartment. He didn't want to take a risk to let live her alone.
"Apartment? It isn't is Bajaj style", she was sarcastic at which he laughed, "But Prerna's"
She didn't get his point what he wanted to say. He actually bought that apartment as he believed that some or the day she will see it and come to live and see the irony....
"Apko accha laga?", he asked her.
"I like small houses only Mr. Bajaj", she said.
He screeched his beard, "So explore"
"Maasi?", she asked for his Maasi and adopted daughter Sonya.
He replied, "They are in London. Sonya is doing masters there. Coming next week. Then you might be comfortable"
She nodded and while exploring the apartment, she found a wall full of Prerna and Kukkie's photograph. Prerna caressed one of them, "Aap nahi hain tasveeron mein"
"Aap dono hi to yaado me they, apni banwane ka time nahi mila", he joked.
She smiled, "So the change man can also joke"
"This is called Kasautti Zindagi Kay....kab kya sikha de....life hai", he replied.
She tiptoed to the master bedroom and opened the wardrobe and found beautiful sarees, "ye kaun pehenta hai?"
"Zahir hai not me", he laughed.
She too laughed when he replied, "Aap ke liye mangwai thi when we left from Kolkata"
"So this beautiful one is my room", she asked and mouthed a thank you.
The same time someone knocked, "Let me check". He snatched a gun and looked into the eye lens of the door and finally opened it while posing with the gun towards the person.
"Oops I am sorry", the person replied in the lawyer's coat. Her hands were up and they both laughed.
He hugged her tight. Prerna was amused to see the bond. She might be of Prerna's age.
"Yeh...I am sorry", Prerna asked for her identity.
"Reshmi Bajaj", she smiled.
hmm left on a cliffhanger. Not fair😡😡
Anyways. The chapter is superb. Waiting for the next one.
