Sai Joshi is a fearless, kind-hearted, studious, and outspoken girl who aspires to be a doctor lives with her father, Inspector Kamal Joshi in Gadchiroli, a village in Maharashtra. On the other hand, Virat Chavan, a Nagpur-based aspiring IPS Officer gets his first posting in Gadchiroli.
On a trip to a Yoga center, Virat meets Patralekha aka Pakhi. They develop romantic feelings but are unable to express them. As they bid adieu, Virat promises to call her. Virat gets posted to Gadchiroli where he meets his trainer Kamal Joshi and his daughter, Sai. Virat misplaces Pakhi's phone number, who feeling cheated, decides to move on, and incidentally gets engaged to Virat's cousin, Samrat. Patralekha meets Virat during her wedding ceremony and begs him to marry her but he refuses to break his cousin's marriage. Later during Samrat and Patralekha's wedding ceremony, Patralekha enters Virat's room .He asks her to leave and when she refuses to listen to him, Virat as a last resort to make her leave the room and go to her wedding ceremony promises that he would never let another woman into his heart. Patralekha decides to marry Samrat to stay close to Virat as the cousins live in the same house. When Samrat discovers their story, he quietly leaves his house not wanting to get between Virat and Pakhi.
In Gadchiroli, Kamal takes a bullet shot from a local goon, Jagthap while saving Virat. Virat promises a dying Kamal he would take care of Sai. Devastated, Sai tried to kill herself but was saved by Virat. The villagers request to Virat to marry Sai. Sai rejects the proposal but Virat decides to marry Sai to take care of her. He tells Sai of his commitment to Patralekha and Sai agrees that she will not expect anything from him as a husband and tells him she can never be his wife and will leave him after she becomes a doctor. Feeling betrayed by Virat, Patralekha inflicts her frustrations on Sai. Virat gets emotionally attached to Sai. Eventually he realises he never loved Pakhi and it was just infatuation. Subsequently, he falls deeply in love with Sai, but cannot confess.
During Holi celebrations, Virat tries to express his love to Sai with help of Sunny whereas Sai helps Virat's cousin, Devyani, reunite with her husband Pulkit and child Harini. Unaware of the entire situation Virat kicks Sai out of his house, making Sai go back to Gadchiroli. When Virat comes to know about the truth, he vows to take Sai back to his house, Virat leaves for Gadchiroli and apologizes for not understanding her. At first, Sai does not forgive Virat, later he gets shot in a mission and then they solve their differences in hospital and returns to Chavan Nivas.At first Bhavani dont accept Pulkit and Devyani but later accepts them. At night, virat and sai goes romantic wherein virat tries to go close near sai when the lights were off which makes pakhi burst out. Later they have Harini's birthday bash During the party Pakhi blastes out at Virat about her love which Sai hears and gets heartbroken. Later Virat clears all the misunderstandings between him and Sai and Sai tells him about her collage function ahead. On the day of the function, Sai challenges chavans to attend the function and plays a prank for a fake accident. Later tells Virat which gives him a shock. Virat meets Ajinkya, Sai's dance partner and feels jealous. Chavan's get shocked seeing Sai performing on the stage and then, Sai and Virat apologises and later Virat tells the family that he wants to celebrate Sai's birthday and tells all the of them to keep it a surprise. Virat organises a grand party for Sai and gifts her a beautiful dress. The family enjoys, dances but when Sai goes to bring Pakhi for the Cake Cutting she is accidently hurt by Pakhi and Virat loses his cool on Pakhi for hurting Sai on her birthday. Virat scolds and shouts on pakhi for her rude behaviour with sai on her birthday. Virat pulls sai and take her to the car where he gives her a ring and expresses his love but aai interrupts by calling to have family dinner. Later, Virat becomes jealous when Ajinkay and other friends comes on Sai Birthday Party. At night, he gifted her the ring as his love again and puts it on his finger but sai denied accepting as something else other than bday gift. Sai questions whether it's a gift or something else as she'll not accept it as love from him. Heartbroken virat lies and tells it as a b'day gift so that she accept it. Virat ask her to always wear this ring as a sigh of their relationship which make Pakhi jealous. Virat tells sai that if ever she removes the ring or return it to him, everything between them will end. On the next day sai took 50 thousands and was going somewhere, virat holds her and stops asking what she'll be doing. Later,they have cute nok-jhok. Next day, Sai come late from colledge and everyone get tenses. When she come, everyone taunt her and patralekha says that sai did drug. After this she call Ninad, he get happy and mesmerized to get that gift which was harmonium . He hugs Sai.
