Interesting perspective. It is possible but I tend to disagree. I think the way laws stand in India, once you show a little teeth and a willingness to sue- even the most "fearless" warriors a la Arnab back off immediately. And no, this particular move doesnt refer to entertainment and censorship in films, it's about broadcast news. Totally different beasts.
I think this might make Arnab and co vindictive for a while- but what does Bollywood have to lose? They've already faced the brunt of it. Also the investors in movies must have also encouraged this- Bollywood is a multi billion dollar industry. Who wants to ruin the one good source of income and returns we have?
This is a smart move
BW actually has a lot to lose. Currently it is not that much scrutinized. They make whatever they want, there are hardly any guidelines and nobody cares about the financing and business ethics as long as everybody gets a cut. And as soon as there is any interference from the state the whole FOE debate sparks up and the controversies mostly favour BW. An action against these media houses will set a precedent. If someone calling BW terms like 'filth', 'druggie' etc makes it a punishable offence then the words used against news channels, politicians, states, policemen or anyone in general in movies will also be fair game. Thus, they'll be losing more control to who so ever has the power.
And BW trying to convince the masses that they are 'holier than thou' and don't consume drugs, yeah good luck with that😆. At the end of the day it's a cesspool of mediocrity rotten to the core. By taking this route they are just tightening the noose around their own necks.

Forgive me for failing to sympathise with these filmmakers. (Surprised they haven’t been named yet) They run after the media for “pap shots”, ask stars to indulge in fake dating rumours, have ties with the underworld, participate in illegal activities, many involved in Me Too, but look at this zulmi media. Boo hoo.😭
Safe to say Anurag Kashyap is probably one of them right? Dude will go anywhere and say anything to be in the news.😆
Really strong disagree. Bollywood is not some land of the pure but this is a false equivalence between a NEWS person and an actor/actress/director's conduct
To put it in different terms- will I judge Rakhi Sawant and lets say Faye DSouza's behaviour in the same breath? One is an entertainer or even a jester by profession. She might be attention seeking and thirsty for pap shots but that is NOT the same as Faye targeting her every night because Faye is scared of covering politics and she needs content.

It's like Dumb and dumber😆, two most compromised entertainment industries of the country going against each other.
This is actually a silly move in context to FOE which BW is very 'pro'. If the court passes any kind of judgement/guidelines it won't just be against these respective media houses. It will be for all the media houses and thus the entertainment industry as a whole. Petitions and judgements against all the media/news/productions houses will become fair game and so will the judgements. They are just opening a can of worms, playing right into the hands of the govt. Ab agar someone decides to file cases against NDTV or Faye D'Souza or the likes of Kashyap n co, they won't have the leg to shout about FOE

Time and again the myth of unbiased media has been shattered. Those in Nira Radia tapes not only survived but also flourished..media also goes against ethics by revealing the names of rape victims, community of people killed in riots- everything for trp and masala...let communal amity go to dogs, hame kya???...live telecast of terrorist attacks helps handlers communicate with terrorists- but media won't refrain....
Smear campaign is the order of the day...local news channels also double up as extortion agencies...
There is no sane news channel...but some people do categorize outlets as ours and theirs..par woh log kissi ke nahi hai- just like Bollywood types..
Everyone knows what wheeling and dealing Bollywood guys do... FOE is for selective use ...arnab and Bollywood guys are brothers this way... both slander without compunctions
