Note: I've tried my best to research about all proceedings of the Court Martial process, still as an outsider to law study, it's not that accurate so please ignore the mistakes 😆
CHAPTER 1: BREACH OF TRUST?
The sun rays flickered rapidly as Captain Dr. Suman Tiwari was being brought to the court room, in the Army Van. The case was to be presented for the first time today.
The Court Martial had been initiated.
Suman had absolutely no expression on her face. A million things were going on in her mind, yet none of those emotions made it to her eyes. Trees after trees flew past the Van, as it sped through the greens. She recalled those moments of struggle and guilt.
Her hands shook as she administered the injection to Hafiz Razak, the man captured by the Military, involved in terrorist activities.
She had felt terrible in that moment, when white froth flowed his mouth, him struggling and gasping for breath. The medical personnel in her was screaming for help. She rushed for last minute antidotes but in vain. The calamity had struck. He was gone - his eyes wide open - in pain, in grief, in horror.
The jerk caused by the halt of the Van brought Suman out of her trance.
As she was escorted to the courtroom, they ran into Shravan.
He asked her guards to leave her with him for sometime.
"So, you ready?" He asked.
She wasn't sure if that was a taunt or a concern.
She nodded, this time, her eyes looking around for hope in his dark orbs.
"Suman" he said, probably for the first time after ages. "Please tell me what happened that day."
"I thought this was something you'd be interested in finding out, Captain."
She said. With Shravan, there was no space to let go of a taunt, even if the situation was as serious as the one they were in.
"So, since you are keen on not revealing anything even now, I'd take your leave. Goodluck, Captain."
"And yeah, don't play around with those shit calls of threat. I deserve better I guess."
He concluded, before escorting her to the courtroom.
...
"Respected Officers and the honorary panel present here, I, Captain Shravan Malhotra, the Investigation Officer of this case, would like to present the Court Martial Proceedings of Captain Dr. Suman Tiwari, as initiated by Lieutenant General Rathore."
The Panelists gave him a nod.
The Holy Book was brought to him for the oath.
"I pledge to be as impartial and honest as it is in my capacity."
Opening the file, he read aloud.
"On 28th September, 2020, a grave incident shook the civilians and army alike - the murder of Hafiz Razak - a terrorist suspect captured by the Shillong Battalion, on 15th September, 2020. The suspect had been in the medical supervision of Captain Dr. Suman Tiwari, ever since he had been admitted in the Bhopal Camp of Indian Army.
The accusation on the esteemed Doctor is, she poisoned the suspect before the Military could investigate about his associated organizations and whereabouts."
Shravan took a deep breath. His mouth was turning dry.
The things he had to present next were already unsettling his insides.
After having a glass of water, he proceeded.
"Before we proceed to this specific case, I would like to present certain facts and details about Dr. Tiwari."
"Allow me to present Garima, the guilty's..."
"Objection!"
Shrieked Suman's defence lawyer, Vikram.
"The accused is innocent until proven guilty."
"Alright then, I'd like to present the accused's assistant at work, Dr. Garima."
Shravan looked at Vikram with a face full of irritation.
Vikram, pleased, smiled back and took his seat.
Garima got up and stood in front of the panel.
"Garima, what is Dr. Tiwari's behavior at work like? Is she impulsive? And sometimes reckless?"
"Yes... Yes sir" she said, unsure and low.
"Has she sometimes overstepped the orders of her Commanding Officer?"
"Yes sir, sometimes" she stressed on the last word to make it sound nice and not so lethal.
Suman clasped her fists in a rage emerging inside her.
Some gruesome events over the past one month had shaken her belief in the morality of the people around her. So when she was asked under some special circumstances to choose a particular officer as the part of the investigation panel, she could bring herself to choose no one else, but him.
Inspite of the fact that his father was accused of supplying faulty equipment to the Indian Army, she knew that Shravan was honest enough to keep himself away from the filth of treason and security breaches. In this dark hour, she felt it was safe to trust him. And how miserably had she failed! She felt ashamed of her split second decision. She should've taken the allotted time and come up with a more supportive name.
Little did she know that this man would be appointed as the Flag Officer of the case and that he would openly raise questions on her work ethics.
"I would like the panel to note these details."
The court was adjourned for the day.
Vikram walked upto a distraught Suman. They were allowed to exchange a few words.
"I... I never knew he'd do this."
She told him, shattered.
"Do what? Oh this?"
"Didn't you get it? Ah, he's being such a great FO already!"
Suman looked at him, puzzled.
"Uh, FO means Flag Officer."
After he got that don't mess with me look from her, he started talking again.
"By painting you as reckless, he's already moving towards the crime being a case of negligence. That's the easiest way out for you!"
Suman's eyes widened in disbelief. It now struck her that Shravan didn't even present the CCTV footage he had warned her about. He was surely upto something and she had to find it out.
She looked at him in the distance.
He turned around to face her. Their eyes met.
The look on his face was incomprehensible. Yet it was some invisible faith that told her, she'd be alright one fine day.

So Suman has been accused of poisoning that terrorist....I am sure she didn't do it and if she did it there must've been a reason!
Practically both Shravan(indirectly) and Vikram(directly) are on her side😆
Now that's what you call trust....she trusted Shravan of all...he stand tall on her trust for sure!
I feel it's going to be tough for Shravan ahead...man already has to fight with his mind!
