Sushant Singh Rajput’s untimely demise has sent shockwaves across the nation. While Mumbai Police and Bihar Police continue to have issues in conducting the investigation, several political leaders have taken sides in this case. Before it was revealed that the case had gone to Central Bureau Of Investigation (CBI), Amruta Fadnavis, wife of former Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis spoke about how Mumbai has become unsafe. This did not sit well with Renuka Shahane who took to Twitter to speak about how Sushant’s has been politicized.

“Please don't politicize Sushant's tragic death & use it to badmouth Mumbai & it's people @fadnavis_amruta. Instead you have all the power to help the police in their investigation by providing them with any details that you might be sure of,” Renuka wrote on Twitter.

She further wrote, “The investigation has to be conducted without pressure, either from media, politicians or whoever. If it was suicide & there was abetment we must bring the perpetrators to justice. If it was a murder, the murderers must be caught. But this Bihar v/s Mumbai nonsense isn't helping.”

When someone mentioned that the whole India wants to know the truth, she further added, “You are right. The whole country wants to know the truth. First "Nepokids" were murderers, then "Bollywood gangs", then mental health issues, the family has accused Rhea & her parents, now Aditya Thackeray is the culprit? Is this mudslinging getting us close to the truth? Ask yourself.”

Late actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s case has now been handed over to Central Bureau Of Investigation (CBI), the centre told Supreme Court on August 5, 2020. Chief Minister of Bihar Nitish Kumar recommended the transfer of the case to the Supreme Court.

An FIR on grounds of abetment to suicide has been filed by Sushant Singh Rajput’s father KK Singh against Rhea Chakraborty and her family. More than 40 statements have been recorded by Mumbai Police including that of Aditya Chopra, Mahesh Bhatt, and Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Even Bihar Police have also started their independent investigation.
