Why couldn't Subhash Ghai make comeback in films after Taal ?

Taal was Ghai's last musical blockbuster in abroad and also it was hit in India. This film was his last commercial success in Bollywood. After that all his directed films tanked. He made Yaadein where he managed to take Hrithik-kareena after they could not work in Kaho Naa Pyar Hai.

He was better film maker than Yash Chopra, Karan Johar. Ghai usually made grand classic films like Kalicharan' (1976), 'Vishwanath' (1978), Maeri (1976), Karz (1980), Hero (1983),Vidhaata (1982), Meri Jung (1985), Karma (1986), Ram Lakhan (1989), Saudagar (1991), Khalnayak (1993), Pardes (1997), Taal (1999).

Yaadein was his first disaster. After that he could not make a comeback in bollywood.

He might not able to find a producer. I think he is a great director.

He did Yaadein, Kisna, Black and White, Yuvraj and one more movie that went unnoticed (it starred Karthik) 

Cos he refused to move on from the 80s and 90s

taal was a garbage floppy, to begin with.

its good he never make a comeback. janta had enough of his yaadien and taal craps.  even his saudagar was cliched.

IMO Pardes was good! 

Saudagar was really good imho 

pardes was average to good; shah made it work.

i loved subhash ghai movie Hero and karz,  the songs were so good.

then comes khalnayak and ram lakhan....

the best thing about subhash ghai movie were the songs. taal had awesome songs...but script, performances, rest were terrible.

nope....didn't work for me. average at best.

He couldn't adopt.

Hence I am curious to see what that old pervert Mahesh will do with Sadak 2, has he moved on and adapted the current time story telling or still stuck in old methods.
