What has happened is sad and tragic.. but plz get your facts cleared before expressing your opinion 1).Nobody had the intension of feeding the elephant with pinapple stuffed with crackers. Those were kept for wild boars that comes n destroy the crops and infect other animal. Kerala government has given permission to shoot these boars because of the hazard they spread. 2).The incident took place early in the morning and as soon as the villagers came to know this, they sought out the help of domesticated elephants to rescue the injured elephant. But sadly succumbed to her injuries before any action could be taken. 3).I totally sympathize with the elephant. But no it did not run around the village in pain screaming and crying as being potrayed in the media. This is the very reason why indian serials boom in India... pure exaggeration and playing with emotions. 4).The forest department and the villagers admitted their mistake and gave proper cremation for the elephant (what has happened is still not justified ). You know what else is not justified, tying a dog and throwing it into water to make tiktok videos out of it and you all not having a problem with it or the very least not even knowing something like that happened. 5). Last but not the least, for all those talking about animal cruelty, do you even know how scary it is to live in an area where there is a hoard of wild elephants. You all scream your hearts out when you see a baby lizard or cockroach, but ya you not are okay with the precautionary measures that the villagers take to save their own lives(still not okay to hurt animals). Oh i had to post it today itself because your sympathies last only till your instagram stories lasts. (Copied) What is more inhuman is seeing people wish for the entire state to be affected by flood/diseases/natural calamities for the fault of few rural farmers and many agreeing with it.

Utmost shame on human kind.

Either we should no more call compassion as humanity .

Else change the name of human.

Being such ruthless kind on earth how can we say humanity exists in humans?

These people should be arrested and punished the same way , they should be killed the same way .

Please check facts, peeps. Y'all are talking about poor farmers desperate to protect their lives and livelihood from wild animals. The cracker and pineapple thing is used as weapon against wild boars. The elephant accidentally ate it. It wasn't intentional killing.

It's easy for urban animal lovers to sit in the comfort of their homes and comment on social media. The farmers don't have the financial capacity to put up electric fences or other sophisticated equipment to keep wildlife away. If they don't use the crude devices, they will put their own families at risk. While everyone wants to save wild animals, how many here will be willing to risk their own children for it?

Another argument is the loopy idea that it's because humans encroached animal territory for farming. Excuse me, this isn't about meat eating. All the stuff the urban commenters, including vegetarians, eat comes from these farmers. The fresh veggies, the bread, the rice, everything! 

Want to prevent this from happening? Lobby the government to help the farmers avoid these problems in a more humane way.

It's just awful! I always keep an eye on the environment and most importantly for myself - not garbage, sort garbage and do not hit the planet in any other way. Start with yourself!
