How many Rishis were mentioned in Ramayana?

I can remember right now: Vashishtha, Vishwamitra, Valmiki, Atri and Bharadwaaj.

Surely there were more sages who the trio met during their vanavasa, or maybe they just in general appeared somewhere in the story?

I had read somewhere :

First  Rishi Rishyashringa who conducted the Putra Kameshthi Yagya, which resulted in Narayana's descent in the world.

Second Rishi Vashishta, the kul guru of the Raghu Dynasty

Third  Rishi Vishwamitra,

Fourth Rishi Atri, the husband of Anusuya

Fifth RIshi Agastya

Agastya taught Rama the 'Aditya Hridayam'-  a stotra in praise of the Sun God which when chanted with sincerity, makes the person victorios. Rama recited this just before killing Ravan

Finally  Rishi Valmiki.

All the names I can remember:

Rishi Rishyashringa, Vishwamitra, Vashishtha, Valmiki, Bhardawaj, Atri, Bhrigu and Agastya

Even Asur clan rishis were mentioned- Rishi Pulastya, Vishrava et al.

The meetings with Sutikshna and Sharbhang in Aranya kand are significant, among others. And then there’s Shabri’s guru Matang who cursed Vaali. Rishi Kanva and Kandu are cited by Shri Ram when he explains his sharnagat policy.  Durvasa appears in Uttar Kand. There’s probably way more too that we haven’t listed.

I have very limited knowledge in comparison to Mytho forum members. based on readings and Ramayana marathons, I remember some names and some i searched from the scenes I remembered. If I mentioned any wrong/ambiguous name then let me know. I will edit the post :)

Some names, other members have already mentioned. I am writing a few new ones and the compiled list from other members' posts.

Rishi/Maharishi

Rishyashringa- Putra kameshti yagya

Vashishtha

Vishwamitra

Gautam- Ahilya's bg story

Shatananda- Janak's Rajguru and Ahilya's son

Parshuram

Jamdagni (mentioned during Lakshman-Parshuram Samvad- Swayamvar)

Bhardwaj- during vanvas

Bhrigu- during vanvas

Kambhoja (mentioned in Ramcharit Manas, I think. during vanvas, they met him)

Atri- during vanvas

Shrbhang- during vanvas

Agastya- during vanvas

Matang- mention during vanvas (Shabri)

Valmiki

Durvasa- uttar ramayana

Pulatsya- mention during Ravan's bg story

Vishrava- Ravan's father. mention during Ravan's bg story

Shravan Kumar- Dashrath's bg story

Santanu (father of Shravan)- Dashrath's bg story

Kusadhvaja (father of Vedvati- only mentioned)- Vibhishana told her story to Mandodari

Brihaspati, Narad- during Jaya-Vijaya story and Vishwamohini track

Takshivan- he saved Mareech

Four Kumaras: Sanaka, Sanatana, Sanandana, and Sanatkumara (during Jaya-Vijaya story)

Kaushik I remember Parshuram calling Vishwamitra as Kaushik Nandan. but Kaushik was his name only

special mentions:

Shuka was the son of Vyasa, so he was a sage before getting cursed.

Kapila Muni- I think he was mentioned sometime in Ramayan- but not sure

as per some stories, sage Ashtavakra cursed Kabandha for laughing at his physical appearance; not directly mentioned in RS/AS Ramayana.

Dashratha was also Rishi Kashyap (not saptrishi one) in his previous life

not so confusing cases.

Ravan, Kumbhakaran, or Vibhishana were brahmin but not sages- so, not mentioning.

After deadly encounters with Lord Rama, Mareech transformed himself into a saint but he wasn't really a sage.
Surya bhagwan was Hanuman ji's Guru but not in sage category

Shiva- he is everything and much beyond maharishi.
