Aligarh or Death in the Gunj: have you watched either/both?

Two movies in recent times which really moved me are Aligarh and Death in the Gunj. Though very different in theme and tonality, I found both of these movies gems.

Aligarh would be impossible without the prodigious talent of Manoj Bajpayee who plays Siras. His shoulders are stooped. His smile is hesitant. And his eyes seem permanently bewildered by the brutality of the world.

Death in the Gunj is also a very, very underrated movie. A solid directorial debut by Konkona Sharma. Ranveer Shorey and Vikrant Massey shine in the movie as antagonist and protagonist respectively. Honestly, the lines are so blurred that one needs to really see through the scenes to understand how we humans have the tendency to be cruel, in the smallest of ways. The way Konkona managed to capture the lazy and tranquil ennui of the 80's...the images of and associations with death that are rife with foreboding...brilliant.

Has anyone watched these movies? Which one is your favourite out of the two?
